TEWS TPMC321 is a conduction cooled single-width 32 bit PMC module

Application Information

The TPMC321 is a conduction cooled single-width 32 bit

PMC module offering 64 ESD-protected 5V-tolerant TTL

lines or 32 differential I/O lines using ESD-protected EIA

422 / EIA-485 compatible line transceivers or Multipoint

LVDS transceivers.

Each line is individually programmable as input, output or

tri-state. The receivers are always enabled, which allows

determining the state of each I/O line at any time. This can

be used as read back function for lines configured as

outputs. Each TTL I/O line has a pull-up resistor. The pull

up voltage is selectable to be either +3.3V or +5V.

Differential I/O lines are terminated, EIA-422 / EIA-485

lines with 120 Ω, M-LVDS lines with 100 Ω.

Each input can generate an interrupt. Signal edge

handling is programmable to interrupt on rising and/or

falling edge of an input signal. Interrupts can be enabled

and disabled for each bit. For interrupt source detection

the status of each bit can be read from interrupt status registers.

The TPMC321 provides rear I/O via P14.

Software Support (TDRV006-SW-xx) for different

operating systems is available.

TEWS TPMC310 Conduction Cooled PMC , Isolated 2 x CAN Bus

Application Information

The TPMC310 is a conduction cooled single-width 32 bit

PMC module providing two channel of high speed CAN

bus interface.

The PLX PCI9030 PCI Target Chip is used for the PCI interface.

Two Philips SJA1000 CAN controllers (CAN specification

2.0B supported) are used for the two CAN bus channels.

The CAN bus I/O interface provides two independent

channels, isolated from system logic and from each other.

CAN High Speed transceivers are used for the CAN bus

I/O interface. An on board termination option (solder pads)

is provided for each CAN bus channel allowing to

configure on board termination and pass through mode for

the CAN bus.

The TPMC310 uses the P14 I/O connector for the CAN

bus I/O interface.

Software support (TDRV010-SW-xx) for different operating

systems is available.

TEWS TPMC151 4 Channel Resolver or LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital Converter

Application Information

The TPMC151 is a standard single-width 32-bit PMC

module and supports a 33 MHz / 32-bit universal (5 V /

3.3 V) PCI interface.

The TPMC151-10R provides 4 channels of Resolver or

LVDT/RVDT to Digital Converter with 16-bit resolution. It

accepts inputs signals up to 12 VRMS, with frequencies

ranging from 1 kHz to 20 kHz and allows tracking rates up

to ¼ of th e e xc ita tio n fre q u e n c y (i.e . 1 0 k H z -> 2 5 0 0 rp s ).

The converter provides a digital angle, respectively stroke

value, and a digital velocity value. For LVDT/RVDT differential

and ratiometric sensor configuration is supported.

The TPMC151 provides individual excitation outputs with

software selectable excitation frequency and output voltage

swing for each channel. Adjustable frequency is ranging

from 1 kHz to 20 kHz and the output voltage range is 0 to

12 VRMS with up to 100 mA. No external power supply is

required. Alternatively, an external excitation can be used.

The TPMC151-20R replaces two resolver channels with

two Synchro-to-Digital Converter channels. For Synchro

channels the excitation output is not available and an

external excitation must be used. Synchro channels accept

input signals up to 28 VRMS, with frequencies ranging from

400 Hz to 20 kHz.

All TPMC151 signals are accessible through a 50-pin MDR

type front I/O connector.

Software Support (TPMC151-SW-xx) for different operating

systems is available.

TEWS TPMC117 6 Channel SSI, Incremental Encoder, Counter

The 32 bit incremental encoder counter is a preloadable

up- and down counter. The counter is programmable for

single, double and quadruple analysis of the encoder

signals. In conjunction with the isolated 24V digital inputs it

provides the possibility of automatic preload of the counter

whenever the motion system passes a reference position.

The 32 bit general purpose preloadable up- and down

counter can be fed with an internal clock or with external

signals.

Both counter modes offer a 32 bit preload register, a 32 bit

compare register and various count modes.

A ‘Multiple Channel Read’ function latches the actual

values of all enabled channels whose values can then be

read without interfering with normal function.
The 32 bit incremental encoder counter is a preloadable

up- and down counter. The counter is programmable for

single, double and quadruple analysis of the encoder

signals. In conjunction with the isolated 24V digital inputs it
