Bently Nevada 3500/93 System Display Asset Condition Monitoring

Description

The 3500/93 System Display is designed to meet the requirements of American

Petroleum Institute (API) Standard 670 and provide local or remote visual

indication of all 3500 Machinery Protection System information residing in the

rack including:

 System Event List

 Alarm Event Lists

 All Channel, Monitor, Relay Module, Keyphasor* Module or Tachometer

Module data

The 3500/93 System Display is configured using 3500 Rack Configuration

Software. The display can be mounted in any of four ways:

1. Face Mounting – display installs directly over the front panel of any full

size 3500 rack using a special hinged support. This permits access to the

rack’s buffered output connectors and user-interface buttons and

switches without disconnecting or disabling the display.

Note: For this mounting option only, the Display Interface Module (DIM)

must be installed in slot 15 (right-most slot) of the rack. The Face

Mounting option is not compatible with the 3500 Mini-rack.

current, 4- or 2-wire resistance, low/power 4- or 2-wire resistance,

(AC+DC) AC voltage/current, frequencies, and diodes.

ADVANTEST’s unique multi-slope integral A/D conversion

method ensures high speed and high precision measurements.

The AC voltage/current measurement uses the true-RMS (true

effective value) method while the (AC+DC) AC voltage/current

measurement allows measurement of a true effective value of

the distortion wave including the DC components. In addition

to the FAST/MED/SLOW sampling modes of the conventional

ABB AN00250 Motion Control Products Tuning drives for servo motors using Mint Workbench

Introduction

The purpose of this application note is to explain the steps required to get an ABB motion drive operating in conjunction with an

AC servo motor and ‘tuned’ to achieve the best possible performance. Although some references are made to induction motor

parameters, setup and tuning of induction motors is covered by a separate application note.

The MicroFlex e190 and MotiFlex e180 are sophisticated servo drives which have been designed to meet the requirements of

both de-centralised single axis intelligent solutions and centralised multi-axis systems, providing high performance in an

economically priced device.

They provide an ideal solution to many machine applications and are ideal components for machine builders and system

integrators.

In this application note we will describe the commissioning process for a MotiFlex e180. The process is almost identical for a

MicroFlex e190 drive so references in this document to MotiFlex e180 are generally interchangeable with MicroFlex e190 unless

stated otherwise.

ABB REB611 Busbar Protection Relay

DESCRIPTION

The REB611 is a specialized busbar protective relay for split-phase short-circuit protection, control and monitoring of single busbars.

The REB611 is suitable for high impedance based applications in utility substations and industrial power systems.

In addition, the relay can be used in restricted earth fault and residual earth fault applications to protect generators, motors, transformers and reactors.

The 611 series relays fully support the IEC 61850 standard for communication and interoperability of substation automation equipment.

This includes fast GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Event) messaging, and can now also benefit from the extended interoperability offered by version 2 of the standard.

The relays further support the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and the High Availability Seamless Redundancy Protocol (HSR).

The 611 series relays can use both IEC 61850 and Modbus® communication protocols.

The REB611 is a member of the ABB Relion® product family and part of the 611 protection and control product family.

The 611 series relays are characterized by a compact and withdrawable unit design.

The 611 series offers simplified yet powerful functionality for most applications. After entering the application-specific parameter set, the installed relay is ready for operation.

The IEC 61850 standard further increases communication capabilities and interoperability between substation automation equipment, adding flexibility and value for end users and electrical system manufacturers.

The REB611 is a specialized busbar protective relay designed for split-phase short-circuit protection, control and monitoring of single busbars.

The REB611 is used for high impedance based applications in utility substations and industrial power systems.

In addition, this protective relay can be used in restricted earth fault and residual earth fault applications to protect generators, motors, transformers and reactors. The REB611 is available in one standard configuration.

ABB REX610 Protection and control functions

Digital relays are based on the use of microprocessors. The first digital relay was released in 1985.

One of the major differences between traditional electromechanical relays and static relays is the way the relays are wired.

Electromechanical and static relays have fixed wiring and are set to manual.

Digital relays, on the other hand, are programmable relays whose characteristics and behavior can be programmed. Most digital relays are also multifunctional.
