Flexible solution design options

The modular architecture of the AMC 300 allows you to use it for compact,

flexible, and service-friendly solutions – from simple plug-and-play rack

modules to cabling with pluggable connectors. Its native EtherCAT fieldbus

supports several hundreds of I/O points through a modular concept with

distributed nodes based on EtherCAT and supporting EtherCAT cable redundancy.

As a result, you have complete freedom to place multiple I/O nodes in different

physical locations to reduce cabling, and the built-in 5-port switch of the PCM3.1

module can be configured with individual VLANs, saving the cost of external equipment.

The fully open Linux software platform gives you full access to system setup,

and you can take advantage of the great amounts of Linux documentation

and support available online. The controller is based on CODESYS V3 and

supports IEC 61131-3 programming.

This ensures easy programming and configuration,and you can easily

reuse existing PLC code if converting from other PLC solutions,

giving you complete freedom to choose your preferred hardware vendor.

You can configure the AMC 300 remotely using a browser.

The device is discoverable using its host name, and remote visualisation is possible via TCP/IP.

Despite these flexible hardware and software options, installing the AMC 300 is very easy:

It comes pre-assembled in racks according to your configuration requirements.

You do not have to assemble the controller yourself and can complete your

sourcing process without assembly and testing.

DEIF AMC 300 Advanced Programmable Controller

The robust and flexible AMC 300 controller allows you to build resilient solutions

for marine and offshore applications. Designed by marine engineers

for marine engineers, the Linux-based PLC platform includes industry-proven

technologies like EtherCAT and is easy to specify, install, and maintain.

The modular architecture ensures maximum design flexibility, and the

rugged design and cutting-edge cyber security features ensure

years of resilient and trouble-free operation.

Robust right out of the box

The AMC 300 is designed to get the job done, even in harsh conditions.

Fully functional from -40 °C, the controller can start-up by self-heating

and control and do surveillance of auxiliary equipment from this extreme temperature.

The base-mounted rack and sturdy metal cabinet give it superior bump, 50G shock,

and vibration resistance properties during operation and transportation.

For example, the rack is mounted with a large screw on the switchboard’s back plate,

so that the unit cannot fall off the DIN rails after transportation.

The flanges ensure improved grounding, increasing protection against electrical disturbances.

The backplane interconnection of the I/O modules ensures reliable communication

in harsh environments. Built-in components provide efficient protection of power

supply and I/O circuits against lightning impacts. The AMC 300 is immune to

ESD bursts at a level conforming to international standards,

reducing the risk of damaged terminals.

All units are fully production tested and verified at the factory through

HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), and the Linux-based platform provides

fail-safe and robust system software. These and other features add up to

a lifetime of at least 10 years for the AMC 300, plus supreme robustness

which reduces service and downtime costs.

DEIF AGI 400 Advanced graphical interface

A comprehensive HMI solution, DEIF’s AGI 400 series connects to all DEIF Multi-line controllers,

as well as third party electronics, via standard defined communication protocols,

featuring functionalities which eliminate the need for other instruments,

thus saving you both space and wiring.

The AGI 400 series is intended for visualisation and active control in multiple applications

managed on board maritime vessels or platforms, where it provides full graphical

overviews and user-friendly touch screen control with a quality display

that is easily readable even at sharp angles. Monitor or control multiple

setups simultaneously, or share data via Ethernet connections,

effectively enabling the DEIF HMI to be used as a small SCADA system. 

AGI 400 supports multiple users levels, and LAN clients, ensuring user control in several levels.

As with the XL series of illuminated indicators, DEIF’s illuminated bridge wing

indicators also feature DEIF’s patented, microprocessor-controlled X-Coil

technology which allows 360 degrees of rotation, Class 0.5 accuracy and

50g shock resistance, and it comes with a wealth of marine approvals.

The BRW-2 and BW series support both CAN and a wide range of analogue

signal and dimming inputs, speeding up installation and simplifying integration.

BRW-2 is a wall mounted bridge wing indicator with a front-mounted physical

dimmer as standard, perfect for meeting bridge wing indicator requirements

such as those detailed in the Panama Canal’s OP NOTICE TO SHIPPING No N-1.

BW is a flexible bridge wing indicator, hanging or standing on a pivot foot,

available in two sizes for indoor and outdoor mounting with a rear-mounted

physical dimmer as standard.

DEIF’s range of standard scales is designed to meet international standards,

such as RPM, Pitch, Rudder Angle, Rate of Turn, Azimuth and much more.

To meet specific application or branding needs or to facilitate harmonised designs,

DEIF offers a highly cost effective and fast custom scale design service.

The cost and risk of system approvals can be reduced and mitigated by taking

advantage of DEIF’s pre-approved MED systems which include BW and BRW-2

indicators combined with other products from DEIF’s bridge portfolio such as XL and XDi.

We recommend using white scales for instruments mounted outdoors to

increase the lifetime of the indicator.

Robust controller (PLC-based PAC) with extended temperature range

The AWC 500 Advanced Controller ( PLC-based PAC ) is the latest addition

to our AWC controller series. AWC 500 offers an unprecedented and unrivalled level of robustness.

Not only on mechanical and electrical parameters does the AWC 500 constitute

the most robust solution in the industry. The controller is suitable for cold climate

or extended temperature operation. With its embedded real-time Linux operational

system and CODESYS CONTROL PLC run-time, the AWC 500 also offers a maximum

of stability in terms of execution of the application software.

Normally, a controller platform requires a new designed controller system and a fitted

relay to protect the connection to the grid. DEIF Wind Power Technology has with resources

in UK managed to integrate all the vital functions into one complete Grid Protection

Module (GPM5·1) to fit into the AWC 500.

Component specific information

The AWC 500 can also be used simply as a standalone grid protection module.

For example, where G59/3 demands needs to comply with existing installations.

As a standalone solution, the AWC 500 can either be part of another EtherCAT based system;

offering easy supervision; or it can be integrated into other systems using Modbus RTU,

Modbus TCP, CANopen, DNP3 or other relevant protocols (on request).

Furthermore, our integration íncludes  a fully automated G59/3 Type Verification

test including documentation as specified by the standard.
