Applications

The RTU component 560NUS04 is an unmanaged plug-and-play 10/100 Mbps Ethernet switch providing four Fast Ethernet auto-negotiation RJ45 ports.

It features automatic MDI/X (automatic crossover detection and correction). The switch is used to distribute Ethernet within the station and to provide Ethernet for the local area network (LAN).

It provides additional ports for local area networks (LANs) and can be used with the rackmount 560MPR01. 560MPR03. and 560SFR02.

Features

For documentation purposes, Ethernet ports are labeled as

No specific uplink port; all ports function identically.

Status indicators show the link and speed status of each port (see “Connectors and Indicators”).

Status indicators show link and speed status for each port (see Connectors and Indicators).

The switch learns the Ethernet address by analyzing received frames.

The frames are analyzed to learn the Ethernet address. The learned addresses are stored in a lookup table (up to 1024

entries), which is used to forward frames only to the correct port.A

received frame is forwarded to all ports, but the receiving port

forwards to all ports if it is broadcast or multicast or if the destination address is not found in the lookup table.

The destination address is not found in the lookup table. If an entry in the lookup table is not refreshed by an incoming frame with a specific source

the entry in the lookup table is not refreshed by incoming frames with a specific source, it is aged out for up to 300 seconds.
