The FloBoss S600 Flow Manager offers multiple communications

The reliability of the analog performance of the

FloBoss S600 allows longer intervals between

calibration checks.

The FloBoss S600 Flow Manager offers multiple

communication interfaces:

• One or two Ethernet 10baseT ports. An

optional second Ethernet port can be added if

required.

• HART communication is facilitated using a 12

channel HART board, supporting point-to-point

and multi-drop architectures (up to 50

transmitters).

• An embedded webserver allows remote

access to the flow computer. Security is

provided by way of user name and password

protection with a detailed event log for audit

purposes. Supports Windows® Internet

Explorer® version 5 or greater.

• Two configurable EIA-232 (RS-232) serial

ports for connection to a printer or RTU.

• Three EIA-422/485 (RS-422/RS-485) serial

ports (up to 38400 bps baud) for connection to

intelligent meters, Modbus SCADA data

networks, or a DCS Supervisory System.

• One dedicated configuration port for

connection to the Config600 configuration software.

Use the software interface (Config600 Lite,

Config600 Lite+, or Config600 Pro) to upload and

download configurations. You can also create or

edit configuration files using Config600 Lite+ and

Config600 Pro (refer to the Config600 specification

sheet, 4:C600). Finally, the keypad interface on

the S600/webserver enables you to review or

modify system parameters.

FloBoss S600 Flow Manager provides the Functions

Emerson FloBoss™ S600 Flow Manager Specification

The FloBoss S600 Flow Manager is designed for

use either as a stand alone Flow Computer or as a

system component. The base unit is supplied with

a single Input/Output (I/O) board and can be used

for both gas and liquid applications. The I/O

capability of the single I/O board is detailed on

Page 5. but is generally suitable for 2 of 3 streams

and a header. Additional I/O boards can be added

(maximum of 3) to enable a single FloBoss S600

to handle up to 10 streams and up to 2 headers,

with both Gas & Liquid in a single machine. Orifice,

ultrasonic, turbine, positive displacement, Coriolis,

Annubar, Venturi, and V-Cone flow meter types

are all supported.

The Floboss S600 uses distributed processing to

achieve maximum performance. The main CPU

incorporates a hardware floating point processor.

Each additional card also has local processing to

convert inputs and output from engineering units to

field values and vice-versa, as well as running

background tests and PID loops.

Emerson FloBoss S600 Flow Manager

The FloBoss S600 Flow Manager is a panel-mount

flow computer designed specifically for

hydrocarbon liquid and gas measurement where

versatility and accuracy matter. The standard

features of the unit make it ideal for fiscal

measurement, custody transfer, batch loading, and

meter proving applications. The unit allows

configuration of multi-stream, multi-station

applications, enabling you to simultaneously meter

liquids and gasses.

All metering calculations are performed using 64

bit (double) precision floating point numbers for the

highest accuracy. Cumulative totals are stored in

three separate memory locations (Tri-reg format)

for maximum integrity. The user language

Logicalc™ also allows double precision

mathematical functions to be performed on the

database objects.

Emerson DeltaV™ Smart Switches Product Specifications

The DeltaV Smart Switches are preconfigured for use exclusively

within the DeltaV control network or the networks listed in

Table 1 above. All switch configuration is performed using

the DeltaV Network Device Command Center [for DeltaV

10.3 configuration is only done through the DeltaV Setup

Wizard using the serial port Command Line Interface]. These

configuration interfaces provide very limited access to switch

configuration parameters. General administrator access to the

DeltaV Smart Switches is disabled to prevent possible mis

configuration of the switch that would impact DeltaV network

performance. A list of the available configuration parameters is

listed in the DeltaV Setup Parameter section

of these specifications.

In DeltaV v13.3 and later the DeltaV Smart Switches can be

installed in the DeltaV 2.5 network or other DeltaV networks

external to the DeltaV control network (see Table 1). For

the DeltaV Smart Switches to be installed in a network, the

switches must be connected to a DeltaV workstation running

control modules. It can be installed in the DeltaV virtualization

networks only if the network is accessible to a DeltaV

workstation (virtual or physical) running control modules.

Emerson The DeltaV Smart Switches

Product Specifications

The DeltaV Smart Switches is based on hardware produced

by a recognized supplier of industrial-grade networking

equipment. All switches are fan-less and have redundant

power connections. Same models are also available in high

temperature, conformal coated versions for use in harsh

environments. The firmware features are identical in all models

of the DeltaV Smart Switch.

These specific control modules are required to run the DeltaV

Network Device Command Center application. DeltaV Operator

Workstations are not capable of running these control modules.

Emerson DeltaV™ Use outside of the DeltaV Control Network

Use outside of the DeltaV Control Network

The DeltaV Smart Switches is supported only as an unmanaged

switch if installed in networks outside of the DeltaV control

network, the DeltaV 2.5 network between the DeltaV

workstations and the perimeter firewall (such as the Emerson

Smart Firewall), or other DeltaV networks external to the DeltaV

control network. The switch will only accept a management

port network address from the DeltaV Network Device

Command Center and the switch can only be used where this

application is able to access the switch.

The DeltaV Smart Switches is not available for use as a managed

switch in the DeltaV InterZone network as the DeltaV Network

Device Command Center cannot access the switch if located on this network.

Compatible with previous versions of

DeltaV systems

Switches are compatible with existing systems that are

installed using only our supported Cisco or Hirschmann

switches. Fiber communications of the Smart Switch will

only communicate at 100/1000MB full duplex (not

configurable) and wired ports will only auto-negotiate

communications (setting is not user adjustable).

Existing switches must be configured to run either in auto

negotiate mode or 100/1000MB full duplex communications.

Existing 3COM switches and media converters may not be

compatible with the DeltaV Smart Switch as they may not

support the required communications. The Smart Switch

will not plug and play in some older networks unless the

existing devices are set to match the specifications above

during the installation.

The auto switch lockdown is compatible only with DeltaV v10.3

and later revisions.

Emerson Compatible with non-DeltaV Switches

Compatible with non-DeltaV Switches

The DeltaV Smart Switch also can be installed in a new system

mixed with the currently supported and shipping Cisco or

Hirschmann switches.

Please read DeltaV Books-on-line for important information

when retrofiting into existing DeltaV networks, especially in

systems with existing 3COM switches or media converters.

Fiberoptic connections on DeltaV Smart Switches are non

configurable and communicate only at 100Mbps on the DeltaV

ACN or 1Gbps switch-to-switch at full duplex.

Installing DeltaV Smart Switches into systems with existing

fiberoptic devices that are not set to 100/1000Mbps full duplex

will cause communications disruptions in the network.
