Description

The Vertex-Pro is an anti-surge controller, designed to control and protect industrial-sized

motor-driven axial and centrifugal compressors. This purpose-built controller is available

in standard off-the shelf models or custom models. Standard off-the-shelf models are available

for one or two recycle loop applications, while custom models (Vertex-Pro-C models) are available

for larger three and four recycle loop applications.

OEM-qualified algorithms are used to ensure that proper start sequences are followed,

proper and accurate compressor load calculations are used, and proper protection and

recovery actions are performed.

The Vertex-Pro is built on Woodward’s field-proven MicroNet™ platform, and is available in simplex

or dual redundant models. All models utilize the MicroNet’s compact 8-slot chassis and

robust field termination modules. Simplex models include one of every module, while

dual-redundant models include two of every module, allowing users to perform both

bumpless on-line program changes and on-line module replacements.

The Vertex-Pro chassis is designed to be bulkhead-mounted in a cabinet or control

panel, and contains the required I/O and core control software to control industrial

motor-driven compressors. Typically, this controller is located in an enclosure that is

rated for the site-specific environment. Field termination modules (with integrated

circuit fuse protection) are included with this controller to allow users to easily land

and manage compressor and system interface wiring. The control also supplies

source power for associated sensors and I/O circuits.

This control is field-configurable, allowing users to easily configure the control to

application-specific requirements.

A menu-driven software program (Control Assistant) is provided with the control,

and when installed on any Windows based computer or laptop, serves as the human

interface to the control and or compressor.

This Control Assistant is used to configure, service, and optionally operate the control.

Optionally a touchscreen OpView™ panel is available for use as a local or remote

operator control panel. This OpView panel is comprised of a 307 mm (12.1”) touchscreen 

computer, and connects to the control via an Ethernet link.

LS-6 Breaker Controller

Woodward’s easYgen | LS-6XT control is a synchronizer controller with integrated mains decoupling

and protection features. It enables several redundant communication schemes with peer controls.

The applications range from independent synch check relay to complex power management system

with multiple utility feeds, bus tie breakers and group breakers in combination with Woodward’s

easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers and/or easYgen | GC-3400XT equipped genset

groups.

Redundant busses running among the peer controls ensure that availability of your power generation

asset is not compromised to a single point of failure.

The LS-6XT control together with easYgen-3000XT controls are designed to support OEM switch-gear

builders, generator packagers, and system integrators standardize on a single hardware for a multitude of

utility parallel or island operations. Off-the-shelf LS-6XT control is software configurable for one/two

breaker control, gensets / genset groups handling, and stand-alone/multi-unit application. The LS-6XT

controller is available in a rugged aluminum powder coated housing. An LED Annunciator plate is

integrated to the front for local annunciation of alarms that are customizable on-site. Woodward RP-

3000XT is supported over a separate Ethernet network that works as remote operator control panel.

Woodward’s LS-5 and LS-6XT breaker controllers deliver accurate synchronization,

integrated mains decoupling, and robust protection features for complex power

management systems. Designed for flexibility, these controllers support diverse applications,

ncluding utility parallel and island operations, with software-configurable options for breaker

control and synchronization. Featuring redundant communication schemes,

intuitive integration with easYgen genset controllers, and rugged housing options,

LS-5 Breaker Controller

Woodward’s LS-5 Series relays are synchronizer controllers with integrated mains de-coupling

and protection features. The applications range from independent synch check relay to

complex power management with multiple utility feeds, bus tie-breakers and group breakers

in combination with Woodward’s easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers.

Wiring efforts are reduced to a minimum, since only one CAN bus connection is required

between all LS-5 and easYgen controllers to transmit AC measurement signals, I/O states, flags, etc.

The LS-5×1 devices manage synchronization, loading and un-loading on each bus segment

and send the required voltage, frequency and phase angle references via CAN bus to the

easYgen-3400XT/3500XT genset controllers. When serving an incoming mains breaker it

automatically detects mains failure, performs mains decoupling and sends the start signal

to the easYgen. The LS-5×1 is software selectable to be applied as an independent synch

check relay, mains circuit breaker control or bus tie-breaker control thereby providing exceptional

versatility and value for OEM switchgear builders, generator packagers, and system integrators.

The LS-5×1 Series is available in two different mounting styles. An LS-521 with a plastic housing

and graphic LCD display is designed to be mounted on the cabinet’s front door.

An LS-511 with an aluminum powder coated housing without display is designed to be back panel

mounted.
