DEIF iE 150 Marine Simple and effective power management

Simple and effective power management

You can set up simple and effective power/energy management systems with up to 7 energy sources.

This gives you stable operation and reliable power round the clock, and it optimises fuel consumption

and balances the loads in the system. The iE 150 Marine supports multi-master control:

If the current master controller fails, another takes over master controller duties,

and all other controllers continue to operate.

SIMPLE AND FLEXIBLE

The iE 150 Marine makes life easier for the system designer and user alike: One single controller

model comes with all the necessary software to control and protect a diesel generator

(including non-synchronising emergency and standalone gensets), an energy storage system,

a shore connection, or a bus tie breaker. The device offers engine drive functionality for engines,

pumps, and sprinklers, and you can quickly reconfigure it for different applications from the display or

using the PC tool.

The illuminated buttons guide the user, making the controller very easy and intuitive to operate.

You will only see options that are relevant for the present function, and you can easily access

the most commonly used functions with configurable shortcuts.

DEIF iE 150 Marine Control and protect your onboard assets

Ideal for non-oceangoing ships, the flexible and user-friendly iE 150 Marine lets you

build power/energy management systems with up to seven assets, manage standalone

generators and emergency gensets, or control engines, pumps, and sprinklers.

The iE 150 Marine is a cost-effective controller for non-oceangoing ships such as in-harbour ships,

riverboats, crew boats, coasters, and pleasure craft. It provides asset control and protection plus

the ability to set up power/energy management systems that optimise efficiency and save fuel.

Control and protect your onboard assets

With the built-in software of the iE 150 Marine, you can control a generator

(including non-synchronising emergency and standalone gensets), energy storage system (ESS),

bus tie breaker, or shore connection. The device offers engine drive functionality for engines, pumps,

and sprinklers, and it provides all the control and protection features you need,

from fuel usage monitoring to automatically using an ESS for spinning reserve to support load deviations.

DEIF iE 650 PLC Robust and well protected

Wide operating temperature range

The sturdy electronics design of the iE 650 PLC gives it a design lifetime of 10 years at

40 °C ambient temperature, and the ability to operate from -40 to 70 °C. As a result,

you can use the iE 650 PLC all over the world. It can start from -40 °C and can be stored from -40 to 85 °C.

It will operate at a relative humidity from 5 to 97% (condensing at 55 °C).

This contributes to lower service costs, and the long lifetime ensures high value for

your investment and minimises electronic waste.

Robust and well protected

The iE 650 PLC is designed for robustness based on the proven AWC 500 design.

The base-mounted rack design makes the iE 650 PLC resistant to bumps (25 g),

shocks (50 g), and vibrations, even during transportation.

The backplane interconnection of the I/O modules ensures reliable communication in harsh

environments, avoiding long-term damage often seen with slide-in contacts.

The flanges ensure improved grounding to increase protection against EMC, and its built-in

protection circuits safeguard the controller from surges and fast transients up to 4kV, electrostatic

discharge up to 6kV.

DEIF iE 650 PLC Fast, fail-safe, and secure system software

Fast, fail-safe, and secure system software

The iE 650 PLC uses a Linux OS maintained in-house by DEIF, a fast-starting, fail-safe, robust,

and secure system software. The architecture of the platform is fully open,

giving you full access to system set-up, plus a world of options including web-based configuration,

user management, IEC 61131-3 programming via CODESYS V3.5. and secure web-based visualisation.

A wide range of communication protocols like MODBUS RTU/TCP, OPC UA, CAN/CANopen, J1939.

and PROFINET are provided as standard. Controller redundancy is supported by the

CODESYS Controller Redundancy feature via Single Licenses.

The iE 650 PLC has two OS images that are separate from the application. If a start-up or

software update fails, the unit switches to the other image and completes the operation.

Both images can be updated, and troubleshooting can be carried out, using remote access.

The iE 650 PLC handles software updates itself.

The controller is prepared to deal with cybersecurity threats:

The new CPU module and operating system are compliant to IEC 62443.

DEIF iE 650 PLC Wide range of protocols supported

Wide range of protocols supported

By default, the iE 650 PLC uses the EtherCAT protocol, providing support for several hundreds of I/O

points and letting you place multiple I/O nodes in different physical locations to reduce cabling.

You get the same update speed for local and distributed I/Os, and the modules are designed

to support EtherCAT cycles as fast as 1 ms.

Additionally, the iE 650 PLC supports several different protocols for example PROFINET, MODBUS

TCP/RTU,

OPC UA and even HTTPS/WSS for Cloud connectivity, giving you the freedom to easily design

a new solution or integrate the iE 650 PLC in an existing one.

Compact size reduces space requirements

The iE 650 PLC is a compact controller that reduces space requirements in your control cabinets.

With a rack height of just 122 mm, it fits the de facto PLC standard, and the depth is only

114 mm (130 mm with connectors). The I/O modules of the iE 650 PLC are also high-density,

reducing the required cabinet backplane footprint to 1.2 cm2 per digital I/O channel.

DEIF iE 650 PLC Performance and flexibility with module concept

Performance and flexibility with module concept

The modular design concept of the iE 650 PLC provides ultimate flexibility: Six different rack sizes

give you 4 to 14 module slots, allowing you to specify 2 to 12 optional modules and configure

them for your application. You can daisy-chain or star-connect several racks if needed.

Interconnection with EtherCAT cable redundancy is supported.

The modules provide power supply, CPU/processing, high-density digital and analogue I/Os,

field bus communication, condition monitoring, and station interface functionality,

letting you configure the iE 650 PLC for applications including a standalone CPU module,

an internet cloud edge gateway, or a full PLC system with local and remote I/O.

The CPU module family features a quad-core 64-bit CPU. All modules have conformal coating for

protection against environmental factors, and they are quickly and easily mounted and connected.

You can order the iE 650 PLC pre-assembled with one or more racks according to your configuration,

eliminating the need to assemble it onsite. You can quickly and easily change the configuration later.

DEIF iE 350 PLC Built-in operational cyber security features

Built-in operational cyber security features

With connected and online controllers, operational security is critical.

The Linux system in the iE 350 PLC provides cutting-edge security features.

For example, boot and firmware updates can only be carried out with signed update packages.

By default, there is only one user (admin) account on the iE 350 PLC. Still, you can create and manage

multiple users and access rights to ensure that the necessary users can handle the unit

while protecting theiE 350 PLC from unauthorised access.

CODESYS web visualisation is managed through certificate handling via the system web page.

Authentication keys are added via system web configuration, and the iE 350 PLC builds

on standard secure file transfer and access protocols like SSH and SCP.

Finally, the Linux system is less vulnerable to ordinary computer virus attacks than Windows-based PLCs.
