ABB Pluto Safety PLC A compact, powerful and user-friendly safety PLC.

Pluto is a cost effective, powerful and compact safety PLC for all

machine safety applications. Most safety devices on the market

can be connected directly to Pluto and multiple safety sensors

can be connected to a single input and still achieve the highest

safety level. Programming is done easily in the accompanying

software Pluto Manager.

Pluto is available in different models; simple models for smaller

systems and models with bus communication for larger systems.

Models with analogue inputs are available as well.

Main features

• Most Machine Safety functions inclusive speed monitoring and analog input monitoring

• Advanced programming possibilities

• Ladder and TÜV approved function blocks

• PL e/SIL 3

AI830A ABB Ability™ System 800xA® hardware selector

Features and benefits

• 8 channels for RTD (Pt100. Cu10. Ni100 and Ni120 and resistor) inputs

• 3-wire connection to RTDs

• 14 Bit resolution

• Inputs are monitored for open-circuit, shortcircuit and has a input grounded sensor

The AI830/AI830A RTD Input Module has 8 channels for

measurement of temperature with resistive elements (RTDs). With 3

wire connections. Al the RTDs must be isolated from ground.

The AI830/AI830A can be used with Pt100. Cu10. Ni100. Ni120 or

resistive sensors. Linearization and conversion of the temperature to

Centigrade or Fahrenheit is performed on the module.

Every channel can be individualy configured. The MainsFreq

parameter is used to set mains frequency filter cycle time. This will

give a notch filter at the frequency specified (50 Hz or 60 Hz).

ABB AO895 3BSC0690087R1 Analog Output IS HART 8 ch

The AO895 Analog Output Module has 8 channels. The module includes

Intrinsic Safety protection components and a HART interface on each

channel for connection to process equipment in hazardous areas without

the need for additional external devices.

Each channel can drive up to 20 mA loop current into a field load such as

an Ex-certified current-to-pressure converter and is limited to 22 mA in

overload conditions. All eight channels are isolated from the ModuleBus

and power supply in one group. Power to the output stages is converted

from the 24 V on the power supply connections.

Features and benefits

• 8 channels of 4…20 mA outputs.

• HART communication.

• 1 group of 8 channels isolated from ground.

• Power to drive Ex certified I/P actuators.

ABB AO820 System 800xA hardware selector

Features and benefits

• 4 channels of -20 mA .+20 mA, 0 .20 mA, 4 .20 mA or -10 V .+10 V, 0 .10 V, 2 .10 V outputs

• Individualy galvanicaly isolated channels

• OSP sets outputs to predetermined state upon error detection.”

The AO820 Analog Output Module has 4 bipolar analog output

channels. The choice of current or voltage output is configurable for

each channel. There are separate sets of terminals for voltage and

current outputs, and it is up to the user to wire outputs properly. The

only differences between current or voltage channel configuration is

in software settings.

To supervise the communication to the A/D-converters the output

data is read back and verified. The opencircuit diagnostics are read

continuously as wel. The process voltage supervision input give

channel error signals if the voltage disappears. The error signal can

be read via the ModuleBus.

ABB HBS01-CJC I/O MTUs – SD Series I/O

The HBS01-CJC the mounting base is for Singular AI03 (8-CH) RTD and AI04 (16-CH)

TC & mV Analog Input modules. The base includes a built-in RTD that can be used

for Cold Junction Compensation.

Two (2) 16-point headers on the base provide connections to either (2) pluggable

16-point terminal blocks for direct connection of field signal wires or to SPK0x_-yy

marshaling cables when field signal wires are landed on 3rd party termination hardware.

Features and benefits

• Termination for up to eight (8) 2/3/4/ wire RTDs or sixteen (16) TC / mV process

signals within a horizontal row.

• All SD I/O modules & bases of all types (Singular or Redundant) AND (Compact or

Full-size), are 100% fully compatible with each other. Thus, Singular & Redundant,

Compact or Full-size I/O modules can be mounted within a single, common HN800 I/O bus.

• Optional mechanical keying can be implemented to prevent insertion of the wrong I/O

module type.

• Latching device on the base locks the base into position on DIN-Rail.

• Industry standard 35-mm DIN rail, Horizontal row mounting.

ACH550 upgrade basics

Record nominal power, current, voltage, etc. ratings taken

from your motor nameplate (to use in the ratings

comparison tables)

What type of signal is the speed/frequency command? e.g.

0-10VDC, 4-20 mA, via communications, or other?

Where is the speed/frequency command landed on the

drive?

What type of signal is the start/stop command? e.g. a relay

closure, via communications, or other?

Where is the start/stop command terminated on the drive?

Are there any other control or reference sources that

require additional IO options?

Are you using a door mounted control panel on an

enclosure door? If so, consider appropriate kit/method for

replacement keypad.

Are you using a door mounted control panel? Consider this

when choosing options

Consider the dimensions and mounting requirements,

cable sizes and heat losses

Review the control terminal wiring and ensure the cable

lengths are sufficient

Is the Building Automation System communicating with the

drive over a communication protocol? e.g. BACnet. If so,

document the appropriate communication settings, such

as MAC ID, Device Object Instance ID, Baud, etc.

Are there any analog outputs from the drive that are wired

to another device? If so, document the type of signal (e.g

4-20 mA), where it was terminated on the drive, what it was

used for, and any scaling of the signal.

Are there any relay outputs from the drive that are wired to

another device? If so, document where it was landed on the

drive and what it was used for.

Are there any other control or reference sources that

require additional IO options?
