Bently Nevada 3701/55 Emergency Shutdown Device

Description

The 3701/55 Emergency Shutdown Device, (ADAPT ESD) is a safety PLC

with a graphical logic programming interface and integrated overspeed detection.

ADAPT ESD is designed for emergency shutdown of rotating machinery such as

steam, gas, and hydro turbines, expanders, and other process equipment.

ADAPT ESD is a compact, standalone, triple-redundant, safety shutdown device

that is designed to meet a broad range of user scenarios and applications.

The design offers an electrical and mechanical package with attention toreliability

and availability as well as extensive self diagnostics and compliance to industry standards.

Inputs

Inputs to the system are processed using three CPU modules to provide

triple modular redundancy (TMR). Each CPU processing module processes

two unique speed input channels, for a total of six speed channels for

the system. The processing modules also monitor an array of 32 discrete (DI)

and process variable (PV) signal inputs. Twelve channels of this input signal

array may be configured either as discrete inputs or 4-20 mA analog inputs.

Remaining channels in the array are reserved for discrete input signals only.

Bently Nevada Online Condition Monitoring Systems

Industries that rely on mission-critical machinery choose our online

condition monitoring solutions.

Online Condition Monitoring Systems

Our approach to condition-based machine health monitoring delivers

top-quality digital signal processing, networked communications,

and analytics software in order to keep your machinery operating in

peak condition and prevent downtime. Bently Nevada’s online condition

monitoring systems and vibration monitoring technology integrate seamlessly

into our machinery protection series to monitor and manage mission-critical data,

which is then fed to our flagship System 1† condition monitoring software,

where you can easily and accurately assess all the data, including process data,

on your plantwide collection of machinery for predictive maintenance.

Customers praise the program’s integrity, reliability, and ease of use coupled

with a diverse selection of options. Acclaimed by users over decades,

our condition monitoring services have enabled one power generation plant to

save $1 million, a petroleum refinery $5 million, and a coal-fired plant to cut

250 days of downtime. In short, machine health monitoring by Bently Nevada,

a Baker Hughes business, can save your organization a lot of lost revenue.

Bently Nevada Trendmaster System compatible Services

Trendmaster System compatible Services

Globally deployed and expertly trained to get the job done

Helping customers achieve plantwide optimization for over 50 years

Our global team of experienced field engineers provides a comprehensive range of machinery

diagnostic services (MDS) for rotating and reciprocating machinery as well as fixed asset types

—regardless of original equipment manufacturer.

From a single engineer in 1972. our MDS capabilities have grown to encompass a team of ~150

dedicated professionals today, many with decades of experience. We have completed more than

18.000 machinery diagnostic projects and the results are maintained in an extensive archive so that

lessons learned on one project benefit other projects where similar machinery problems are encountered.

Our sophisticated IT capabilities allow MDS colleagues from around the world to easily collaborate in real

time using this archive and their collective areas of expertise. This ensures that our extensive knowledge

and broad experience can be brought to bear on each problem, regardless of where the machinery is

located.

Bently Nevada Trendmaster Online Condition Monitoring System

Overview

Trendmaster Pro is an innovative online vibration monitoring system that links hundreds of

permanently mounted transducers and measurement points to a single-cable sensor network.

It then transmits full-waveform & spectrum data to our System 1 software, with its intuitive

interface for tracking, alerting & analyzing your machinery behavior.

This online condition monitoring system is optimized for cost-effective monitoring of machines

of intermediate criticality, i.e. machines that don’t demand immediate shut-down protection,

but for which monthly portables-based monitoring would be insufficient.

A highlight of this system is its suitability for use in the most hazardous environments (i.e. explosive

gases).

A wide range of sensor types are supported, including vibration (Acceleration, Velocity, Displacement),

temperature (RTD & K thermocouple), Pressure, Process Variables (20mA, 5V), Rack Buffered outputs.

Each Transducer Interface Module provides 2 channels of measurement.

Trendmaster Product Features

The Trendmaster Pro online condition monitoring system is ideal for your medium criticality machines:

Dynamic Scanning Modules – Strategically placed throughout your plant, DSMs accept one to

six sensor bus cables to produce a distributed network of condition monitoring sensors.

Frequently polled – Sensors on each bus are polled sequentially every few minutes,

allowing the system to collect data from thousands of connected sensor points.

Low installation and hardware costs – innovative architecture utilizes point-to-point wiring

rather than running all field wiring all the way back to a central location.

Bently Nevada 3500 series Applications and industries

Applications and industries

Service and support

The table on page 5 summarizes the enormous selection

of measurement types available in the 3500. This allows it

to be applied to an extremely wide-range of rotating and

reciprocating machinery in many industries. Below are just

a few of the more common applications that can be easily

addressed by the 3500 System.

If your specific machine doesn’t appear on the list, just

ask us. Chances are, our applications engineers have

already developed a solution that’s right for you. And,

with our extensive custom applications capabilities, we

can easily modify off-the-shelf 3500 solutions to handle

your nonstandard applications and signal processing

requirements.

Bently Nevada The 3500 is the most reliable monitoring system

Reliable

We understand that our systems are routinely used not just

for indication, but to provide auto-shutdown protection.

That’s why – even in simplex mode – the 3500 is the most

reliable monitoring system we have ever offered with

extensive self-checking and fault tolerant design features.

Connected

Connecting to condition monitoring and diagnostic software

has never been easier. With the 3500 there are no bulky

external modules, no additional wiring, and no extra rack

slots required. Simply use the Ethernet port in the 3500/22M

Transient Data Interface Module and a single network cable

to communicate with our System 1† software. Connecting

to plant control and automation systems is straightforward

as well. Simply add a communication gateway module.

You can even add multiple gateways when communication

redundancy is required or when multiple systems must be

supported with differing protocols.

Flexible

The 3500 Series features the industry’s most extensive

selection of machinery measurement parameters combined

with software configuration for virtually all monitor options.

Local or remote mounted displays are available, or you can

operate the 3500 without a display. The result is unparalleled

flexibility to address almost any application.
