relay to provide continuous synchronization of chemical and electrical measurements for enhanced

transformer monitoring

Grid Solutions Hydran M2-X Key Benefits

Enhanced Monitoring with Extended Sensor Life

When a transformer’s insulation system is overstressed, the oil and paper undergo chemical

degradation producing both hydro-carbon gases and moisture that dissolve into the insulating oil. This

increased ageing will shorten the transformer’s life, impact its reliability and in some cases can even

lead to catastrophic failures.

The Hydran M2-X is the next generation of the field-proven family of Hydran DGA monitoring solutions.

It provides continuous monitoring of gas and moisture levels to alert users of developing faults and

minimize the risk of unplanned outages. The M2-X builds on GE’s strong domain expertise to deliver an

optimized, low maintenance monitoring device with an extended sensor life.

ABB Portable NGC Natural gas chromatograph Description

Description

The truck is moved as close to the sample point as is

practical. A flexible sample line is then uncoiled and attached

to the probe in the flowing natural gas pipeline. If the dew

point of the gas or the weather demands it, this flexible

tubing must be heated. A sample of the gas is extracted from

the probe in the line, purged through the flexible line and then

transported to the analyzer. There it is processed for particle

removal and phase integrity, injected onto the

chromatographic columns where component separation

occurs. These components are then quantified by peak

integration and concentration is calculated. The other data of

interest is then calculated from these concentrations.

ABB Portable NGC Natural gas chromatograph Introduction

Introduction

This data can be used for flow computers, RTU’s, gas

accounting systems, and SCADA systems for the energy,

AGA3. 7. 8. and 10 calculations at the meter site. This data

output can be a CSV file format so that analysis data systems

can easily incorporate the information. The number of runs

and the number of averages can be selected.

The averaged output can be formatted to be accepted by a

3rd party gas accounting software system, allowing

automatic downloads of the analysis data. Analysis done on

site is valuable because:

• Transportation of DOT regulated gas cylinders is avoided

• Time and cost of subsequent laboratory analysis

• Problems with sample handling

• Economic solution for gas quality measurement when the

gas volumes are too low to justify on-line chromatography

A-B Bulletin 2198 EtherNet/IP Encoder Output Module Increased Flexibility

Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5700 Regenerative Bus Supply

Providing Consistent Machine Performance Globally

The Kinetix 5700 regenerative bus supply also expands capabilities

to address the needs of large applications. Extend the DC-bus up

to 70 m away from the power supply cluster to extended drive clusters of

Kinetix 5700 inverters without DC-bus fusing. Extend up to 1200 m total motor

cable length per bus sharing group. The Kinetix 5700 regenerative bus supply leverages EtherNet/IP to enable monitoring of energy

usage, and provides direct energy cost savings by regenerating excess energy back to the AC

power source or for plant-wide use. The bus supply offers an integrated LC filter to help reduce

installation costs. With a smaller overall footprint, users can expect up to a 70% reduction

in required cabinet space. This supply is CIP security capable and offers defense in depth to

address different types of physical and electronic threats. The bus supply can assure peak

machine production output capability by stabilizing the DC bus voltage by riding through AC

input voltage dips. This allows global machine manufactures to ship anywhere in the world and

still meet machine output specifications.

Features and Benefits

• Bus supply will perform common DC bus voltage regulation regardless of input AC voltage

• Excess energy regeneration back to the AC power source or for plant-wide use allows for

energy cost savings

• Integrated LC Filter reduces installation costs and reduces cabinet space
