Easy to Keep Accurate

Ambient condition change, vibration and shock to an optical precision

product, like an optical spectrum analyzer, will effect the optical

components, and eventually degrade optical performance. Using

standard functions, The AQ6370C can maintain its high optical

performance within a couple of minutes so that you can quickly start

a measurement.

Built-in wavelength reference source

The AQ6370C comes equipped with a wavelength reference source

for the wavelength calibration and optical alignment.

Improved World-class Optical Performance

Standard and High-performance models

There are two models available, Standard and High performance.

The High performance model provides even higher wavelength

accuracy and dynamic range.

High wavelength resolution: 0.02nm

High wavelength accuracy: ±0.01nm

• High performance model: ±0.01nm (C band)

• Standard model: ±0.02nm (C+L band)

Ultra-High dynamic range: 78dB typ.

With the reduced stray-light in the monochromator, AQ6370C

achieves ultra-high dynamic range of typ. 78dB.

Sharper fi lter edge

The high performance model can also achieve a higher dynamic

range within 0.2nm of the peak wavelength. With the sharper

spectral characteristics of the monochromator, spectral signals in

close proximity can be separated clearly and measured accurately.

Stray-light suppression ratio: 80dB typ.

This new specifi cation provides stray-light suppression capability

without the High dynamic mode, which takes a longer measurement

time.  The AQ6370C contributes to shortening the measurement time

with the high stray light suppression ratio.

Wide level range: +20dBm to -90dBm

The AQ6370C can measure high power sources such as optical

amplifi ers and pump lasers for Raman amplifi ers, and very weak

optical signals as well. Measurement sensitivity can be chosen from

seven categories according to test applications and measurement

speed requirements.

• Flexible installation

Base units can be shipped separately from the enclosure and installed into the enclosure at a suitable timing. This

allows a project to perform the acceptance test using the base unit at factory in parallel with field wiring work to the

enclosure at the customer site. And this minimizes the exposure of the base unit to the harsh environment such as

dust, water, and electromagnetic noise by keeping the base unit in the warehouse during field wiring work to the

enclosure.

• N-ESB / Optical ESB bus interface function

This function allows for communicating with the upper-level field control unit and N-IO node. It also allows for

communicating with the lower-level N-IO node.

• Splicing box

This is installed in the enclosure as standard. Connect the optical fiber cable of the optical ESB bus from outside to

the splicing box.

• House keeping (HK) function

Monitors the temperature in the enclosure, the system power and field power output.

 Maintenance function

The node interface unit (NIU) has a Micro-USB maintenance port for maintenance.

The setting of the node address is possible with a NIU Node Number Setting tool.

NIU Node Number Setting Tool is included in the CENTUM VP R6 software media.

• GENERAL

This General Specifications (GS) covers the hardware specifications of an N-IO field enclosure and its

related products (A2NN70D style S2. A2NN60D style S2. A2CB60 style S2. and A2CX100). The N-IO field

enclosure (A2NN70D) [System model (*1): A2ZN70D] is a standardized remote I/O enclosure for outdoor

use, which provides the accessories including field power supply units with optimized design. The N-IO

field enclosure consists of two components, one is a dedicated enclosure with terminal blocks and the

other is a base unit with an N-IO node including field power supply units. It is possible to order the

enclosure (A2CB60) and the base unit (A2NN60D)

[System model (*1): A2ZN60D] individually. In the individual orders, the base unit can be shipped

separately from the enclosure. Then this enables the user to install the base unit into the enclosure at a

suitable timing. This is defined as “Flexible installation”. The flexible installation allows a project to

perform the acceptance test using the base unit at factory in parallel with field wiring work to the

enclosure at the customer site. And the flexible installationminim izes the exposure of the base unit to the

harsh environment such as dust, water, and electromagnetic noise by keeping the base unit in the

warehouse during field wiring work to the enclosure.

Early start-up of a plant

■ Challenge:

Starting up a plant more quickly has long been an issue that directly affects customers’ profits.

■ Our solution:

Application engineering and hardware engineering can progress independently and parallel. This parallel work shortens the

project schedule, either by starting later or by possibly enabling an earlier start-up.

Although the start-up of instruments and the installation of I/O modules can be performed in parallel, the loop check is completed

only after the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) is finished and the controller and the engineering environment are installed.

In Yokogawas parallel engineering, there is no need to wait for the controller and engineering environment to be completed. The

integrity of loops can be checked only with N-IO modules and F-CSP. If any change is found in the I/O definition information, it can be

corrected on the spot, and the corrected definition can then be reflected in the master information in the plant.

Reducing risks to scheduled project delivery

■ Challenge:

The I/O definition often needs to be changed due to physical constraints. Such problems usually occur during commissioning and

may prolong the project schedule, as well as require costly re-wiring.

■ Our solution:

The I/O definition of N-IO modules can be changed more flexibly. Signal types among DI/DO/AI/AO can be switched only with

software, and there is no need to change I/O modules. Since signal types can be designated at each channel, there is no need to

stock I/O modules for each signal type, reducing maintenance costs.

Highly flexible installation

■ Challenge:

Sufficient space is needed to mount I/O modules. Also, the marshalling to connect field devices and I/O modules require space

and work, increasing costs. This may reduce the number of possible locations for arranging I/O modules.

■ Our solution:

N-IO modules do not need  the hardware marshalling. Conventionally, this marshalling is necessary to arrange field wiring for

each signal type and to connect them to I/O modules dedicated for specific signal types. In contrast, multiple types of signal can

be assigned to a single N-IO module, and there is no need for arranging signal types and thus marshalling. For this reason, N-IO

modules need less space and wiring for installation. This module is ideal for flexible and distributed installation in the field.

Furthermore, the use of N-IO modules eliminates the need for marshalling cabinets, further saving space and costs.

YOKOGAWA ProSafe-RS N-IO (Network I/O) Safety Instrumented System

ProSafe-RS R4 adopts the same architecture as CENTUM VP R6 to improve

the engineering environment, thus greatly shortening the project schedule.

N-IO (Network I/O): Smart Configurable I/O (SCIO)

In addition to conventional I/O modules dedicated for specific signal types (FIO module), ProSafe-RS R4

can offer the N-IO module, which handles different signal types at each channel. By concurrently

accepting both types of module,

ProSafe-RS R4 can deal more flexibly with a customers plant design requirements.

■ Features

– DI/DO/AI/AO signals can be handled at a single module. The types of I/O signal at each channel can be

changed with software.

– Remote installation up to 50 km is available by using optical cables.

– SIL3 can be achieved with single configuration. Redundant configuration is also selectable.

– Terminal block has a disconnect function of signal loop of field devices as a standard function.

– An N-IO baseplate is available for intrinsically safe barriers.

Field Commissioning Support Package (F-CSP): software for validating and configuring N-IO loops

Combined with N-IO modules, F-CSP allows the field devices testing and validation without having a

controller and an engineering station. This software is offered as an option of FieldMate.

Automation Design Suite (AD Suite)

AD Suite offers the engineering environment integrated with CENTUM VP. Its change management

function and other features improve engineering quality and efficiency throughout the plant lifecycle.

Based on the customers design requirements, the engineering environment can be separated, ensuring a
