behind VersaMax from Emerson. This compact,

extremely affordable, control solution can be

used as a compact PLC, distributed I/O, or

distributed control. With its modular and

scalable architecture,  intuitive features and ease

of use, this innovative control family can save

machine builders and end users considerable

time and money.

Offering Big PLC Power

in a Small Package

VersaMax Modular CPUs supply a number of features usually

found only in PLCs with larger footprints, including up to

128kB of memory for application programs, floating point

math, real-time clock, subroutines, PID control, flash memory,

and bumpless program store. The serial ports support serial

read/write and Modbus master/slave communications.

Emerson RXi – Panel PC A Range of Applications

Anytime, Anywhere:

A Range of Applications

The RXi – Panel PC portfolio has offerings which effectively

operate in temperatures as high as 65°C and as low as -20°C

with the capability to operate indoors or outdoors. The

RXi – Panel PC portfolio meets the rigorous IP66 certification

which protects against dust, moisture, and even direct water

jets. The RXi – Panel PC provides you with a solution that is

designed to go where you need it to.

The capacitive, multitouch screens can be used with

personal protective equipment and are as sensitive as the latest

smartphone. Furthermore, the outdoor rated Sunlight Readable

(SLR) screens provide brightness ratings nearly double that

of the brightest smart devices. The optically bonded screens

feature UV protection which vastly reduces reflections and

glare. The wide screen display provides operators with vivid,

clear images for a more complete and enhanced process

visualization.

Emerson RXi – Panel PC High Performance

High Performance

With Windows 10 IOT Enterprise LTSC OS installed standard,

the RXi – Panel PC is ready to meet your software needs.

Available options include a Dual Core 1.0 GHz processor, a Quad

Core 1.2GHz processor, and a 2GHz processor. Users can also

select between 4. 8. or 16GB of available RAM. The multitouch,

projective capacitive screens use high resolution, vivid graphical

capabilities and quick response times ensuring that relevant

information is readily available to make quicker and smarter

decisions. The RXi – Panel PC creates a high-performance

modular platform that lowers total cost of ownership and allows

for powerful upgrades to the underlying computing technology

in the future.

Emerson RXi – Panel PC Modularity and Flexibility

To succeed in an outcome-driven world, businesses must operate faster and leaner,

while being increasingly connected with both local and global data.

At Emerson, we’ve  reimagined automation architecture to help you thrive in

today’s demanding business environment.

This architecture ensures that relevant information is readily  available to operators,

so they can make the best decisions in real time.

Highlighting this reimagined architecture, Emerson has gone back to the drawing

board to create the “Definitive Industrial Display Experience.”

The result is the RXi – Panel PC modular display portfolio with multiple options of separable

screens and computing units that maximize flexibility,  performance, and durability.

Modularity and Flexibility

The RXi – Panel PC portfolio ranges from 7” to 24” screens in a

widescreen format, with 7” to 15” models also available with

outdoor Sunlight Readable (SLR) screens. The modular nature of

the unit offers a substantial amount of flexibility in configuring

your RXi – Panel PC. For instance, you can easily swap an indoor

screen for an outdoor screen, change screen sizes, or simply

replace a damaged screen, while utilizing the same computing unit.

Emerson PME Leased (PAC License Server)

Licensing Options

When ordering PAC Machine Edition 10. the Key Type

must be selected to be either Leased Key (PAC License Server),

Computer Locked (Software Key), or Hardware (M7).

Leased (PAC License Server)

The Leased Key enables users to lease a license from a

centralized server. The centralized server is called the PAC

License Server. The client that runs PAC Machine Edition can

be a virtual machine managed by either a type 1 or type 2

hypervisor or a physical machine. PAC License server can be

hosted on a physical or virtual machine (type 1 or type 2).

Emerson PME Computer Locked (Software Key)

Computer Locked (Software Key)

The license is locked to a specific physical computer.

The license can be used by PAC Machine Edition that is

running on that computer or on a guest virtual machine

managed by a type 2 hypervisor hosted on that computer.

Hardware (M7)

PAC Machine Edition 9.8 and 10.x support M7 hardware keys.

M7 keys support licensing PME running on a physical or

hosted virtual machines (type 2).

The Leased Key enables users to lease a license from a

centralized server. The centralized server is called the PAC

License Server. The client that runs PAC Machine Edition can

be a virtual machine managed by either a type 1 or type 2

hypervisor or a physical machine. PAC License server can be

hosted on a physical or virtual machine (type 1 or type 2).

Emerson PME supports IEC-61131-3 editors including ladder logic

The Right Programming Languages

PME supports IEC-61131-3 editors including ladder logic,

structured text, and function block diagrams. In addition,

C blocks can be created and merged easily into PME. This

gives you the freedom to use the best language for your

application.  The sequence function blocks bring the benefits

of sequential function charts into the function block diagram

editor allowing equipment control and its associated

sequencing to be merged into one editor.

PME can support one to multiple targets in a single project,

allowing you to scale appropriately based on the application.

Therefore, you can have one project for each controller or

one project for multiple controllers depending on the needs

of the engineering and operations personnel that configure

and maintain the control system.
