Kollmorgen Stepper Drives

Stepper positioning systems offer exceptional torque and accuracy,

with the simplicity and versatility to suit a wide range of applications.

The key to getting the most performance is to choose a high-quality

motor and pair it with the optimum stepper drive for your particular

application requirements.

Kollmorgen offers stepper motor drives with the versatility, ease-of-use

and cost-effectiveness to suit virtually any stepper positioning application.

With microstepping capabilities and no need for feedback systems,

these stepper drives offer servo-like positioning with less complexity

and a lower total cost.

Our stepper drives are available for 120/240 Vac and 20–75 Vdc power

input. With a wide output power range, they provide the features and

performance required for challenging stepper applications such as indexing,

X-Y and X-Y-Z positioning, conveying, machine tools, robotics and more.

Modular stepper drives in the P5000 Series provide a compact, cost-effective

solution for applications where an external DC power source is available.

They are generally used where the driver will be directly integrated into the

machine, or in systems where drivers for multiple axes will share a common

DC power supply.

Packaged stepper drives in the P6000 and P7000 Series incorporate their own

DC power supply along with the motor drive in a full enclosure.

These stand-alone units operate directly from the facility’s AC power, providing

motion control that’s easy to implement and configure for nearly any application.

The P7000 Series also includes auto-tuning and motion profiling for the ultimate

in functionality, smoothness, high-speed performance and innovation.

P80360 Family

Minimize Errors with Closed-Loop Position Control. The P80360 drives features Closed Loop Position Control when using an incremental encoder. Allowing users to actively track and correct for position errors, minimizing the risk of scrap and potential equipment damage.

Solve Difficult Motion Challenges With Full Programmability. The P80360-R4E drive utilizes our Kollmorgen Space software to offer programming capability ranging from simple point-to-point movements to complex, linked motion sequences. The versatility and functionality of this software allows user to eliminate the need for an external PLC or indexer for single-axis motion control, which reduces the overall system cost.

EtherCAT Capable. The P80360-ECE drive features an EtherCAT communication interface that supports Cyclic Synchronous Position (CSP), Cyclic Synchronous Velocity (CSV), Profile Position, Profile Velocity and various Homing modes. With this portfolio addition, users can now integrate the P80360 stepper drive into existing EtherCAT ecosystems enabling real-time control for increased throughput and machine capability.

Kollmorgen P80360 Stepper Drive

Based on Kollmorgen’s innovative P8000 platform, the P80360 stepper drive offers

superior smoothness and accuracy for motors running on AC power at up to

3.0 ARMS per phase. Features include closed-loop position control and full

programmability for servo-like control. The P80360 drive is ideal for use in labelers,

indexing tables, CNC machines, XYZ gantry systems such as 3D printers, packaging

machines, medical lab equipment, pumps, and many other applications requiring

simple point-to-point movements as well as linked motion sequences.

Minimize Errors with Closed-Loop Position Control

• Minimize scrap and the risk of equipment damage using encoder feedback to

correct for position overshoot and undershoot errors.

• Compensate for compliance due to gearing, couplings and heavy or variable loads.

• Improve motor efficiency by drawing only the current necessary to move the load,

saving energy and reducing dissipated heat.

Solve Difficult Motion Challenges with Full Programmability

• Create motion and linked motion sequences with ease via the intuitive graphical

user interface and programming language, reducing overall setup time.

• Potentially eliminate the need for external PLCs or indexers for single-axis motion

control, reducing overall system cost.

Reduce Setup Time

•  Get your machine up and running faster with the Motor Wizard feature included in

Kollmorgen Space software, requiring only input of the initial profile velocities and

acceleration times when used with Kollmorgen motors.
