GE PCI-5565PIORC Ultrafast Fiber Optic Reflective Memory with Interrupts

The PMC-5565PIORC* is the PMC-based product in GE Intelligent Platforms’ Reflective Memory Real-Time Fiber Optic Network product family.

Two or more PMC-5565PIORCs, as well as other products in this family, can be integrated into a network using standard fiber optic cables.

Each board in the network is referred to as a “node”.

Reflective memory allows computers, workstations, PLCs and other embedded controllers with different architectures and different operating systems to share data in real time.

The 5565 Series Reflective Memory (referred to as RFM-5565 in this manual) is fast, flexible, and easy to operate.

Data is transferred via write memory (SDRAM) that appears to exist globally on all boards on the network.

The on-board circuitry automatically performs data transfers to all other nodes with little or no host processor involvement.

ABB Transformer Protector RET670 Controller Accessories

Applications

The RET670 provides fast, selective protection, monitoring and control of two- and three-winding transformers, autotransformers, step-up transformers and generator transformer sets.

transformer units, phase shifters, special railroad transformers and shunt reactors.

This IED operates normally over a wide frequency range to accommodate power system frequency changes during disturbances, generator startup and shutdown.

The RET670 features fast, low-impedance differential protection with very low CT requirements. Differential protection function

Differential protection features 2nd harmonic and waveform block suppression to avoid CT saturation and transformer inrush current tripping, as well as 5th harmonic suppression.

It also has a 5th harmonic suppression function to avoid transformer overexcitation trips.

Differential functions provide high sensitivity to low-level internal faults through the use of sensitive differential protection based on amplitude measurement of the negative sequence component and direction comparison.

A variety of low impedance restricted earth fault protection functions are available as sensitive and fast primary protection against winding earth faults.

This function includes an internal/external fault discriminator for increased safety.

In addition, it has a high-impedance differential protection function. It can be used for different applications that

These include limiting earth fault protection as winding protection, autotransformer differential protection, shunt reactor protection, T-feeder protection, busbar protection and generator differential protection.

ABB FPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP Adapter Module

PROFIBUS networks PROFIBUS is an open serial communication standard that allows the exchange of data between all automation components.

There are three main types of PROFIBUS:

– PROFIBUS FMS (Fieldbus Message Specification)

– PROFIBUS DP (decentralized periphery)

– PROFIBUS PA (Process Automation)

The physical transmission medium of the bus is a twisted pair cable (RS-485 compliant).

The maximum length of the bus cable is 100 to 1200 meters, depending on the transmission rate.

Without repeaters, up to 32 nodes can be connected to the same PROFIBUS segment.

If repeaters are used, 126 nodes (including repeaters and a host station) can be connected to the network.

In PROFIBUS communication, the host station – usually a programmable logic controller (PLC) – selects the nodes that respond to the host’s commands.

The host can also send commands to multiple nodes in the form of broadcasts; in this case, the nodes do not need to send feedback signals to the host.

The PROFIBUS protocol is described in detail in the IEC 61158 standard.

The communication with the drives is defined in the PROFIdrive PROFILE – The PROFIBUS Profile for Adjustable Speed Drives.

FPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP Adapter Module

The FPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP adapter module is an optional device for ABB drives.

The module connects the drive to a PROFIBUS network. In a PROFIBUS network, the drives act as slaves.

The adapter module makes it possible to

– Send control commands to the drive (e.g. start, stop, run allow)

– Provide the drive with a motor speed or torque determination

– Provide the drive’s PID controller with the actual process value or the process decision.

– Read status information and actual values from the drive

– Changing drive parameter values

– Reset drive faults.

Option FDPI-02 Diagnostic and Panel Interface for ABB converters and inverters

Product Overview

The FDPI-02 Diagnostic and Panel Interface is used to branch the RS-485 panel bus and chain a control panel or PC tool to multiple drives.

This interface device provides a straight-through connection between the control unit and the F-type option module.

It is compatible with the ZCU-xx and BCU-xx control units. The interface unit is installed in the option slot of the control unit.

A small F-type option module can then be mounted on top of the Interface Unit.

The Interface Unit has one RJ-11 and two RJ-45 connectors. The RJ-11 connector is used to connect to the Control Unit.

The RJ-45 connector supports a daisy-chained bus for connection to a PC or control panel (simultaneous control panel and PC communication is not allowed).

Bus termination is required to prevent signal reflection at the end of the bus cable. The interface unit has a panel/PC cable bus termination switch.

The termination switch must be in the terminated position if the device is the first or last device on the bus.

If the control panel is connected to one end of the bus, it will terminate the bus, only the other end must be terminated via termination switch S1.

The following figure shows the layout of the interface unit.

FOXBORO 130M Series Pnuematic Controller

The 130M Series Pnuematic controllers offer manual setpoint adjustment and are the standard controller in the Foxboro® 130 Series.

All Foxboro® 130 Series controllers are designed for high-density control room installations.

These devices are ideally suited for applications where precise control is critical to skilled process management.

The 130M Series is essentially the same as the 130P and 130F Series with the exception of the following features:

130P Series: Has setpoints that are pneumatically modified by remote signals.

130F Series: Remote/local switching to support manual or pneumatic modification of setpoints.

Designed for high-density control room installations, these controllers are suitable for any situation where precise control is required for efficient process management.

The basic controller is the 130M series with manual setpoint adjustment. 130P series is similar to the 130M, but the setpoint can be adjusted pneumatically via a remote signal.

The 130F series is similar to the 130M but includes a remote/local switch for manual or pneumatic setpoint adjustment.

Large Eye-Catching Display

The visibility and legibility of the large, brightly colored pointer located directly behind the clear vertical scale has become the benchmark against which other display concepts are judged.

The system provides a continuous full-scale display of all variables, an effective indication of controller deviations, and easy scale changes without tools.

Separate automatic and manual control units

Both the automatic and manual control units can be disassembled without disrupting the process.

This design feature avoids costly downtime for servicing the controller.

Completely Unbalanced and Bufferless Transmission

The 130 Series controllers utilize the “integral balancing” method for bufferless transfer. After transfer, the controller simply responds at the integral (reset) rate that

This eliminates any error between setpoint and measurement. In addition to providing easy, unbalanced and unbuffered transmission, this solution preserves the setpoint.

Simple and cost-effective installation

Up to 10 instruments can be accommodated in a multi-unit rack. All air connections are made when the controller is installed in the rack.

Piping costs are minimized as each rack has its own integrated air supply header and individual air shutoff valve.

Easy Maintenance

The 130 Series utilizes a unique pneumatic circuit board that greatly enhances the sophistication of the pneumatic control system. This board eliminates many of the piping and connections found in other controllers.

All components are located on one side of the board and are easily accessible by sliding back the cover on one side.
