Eaton’s vacuum interrupter technology is used for repetitive switching

Proven vacuum interrupter technology

Environmentally focused circuit protection for global innovation

Vacuum interrupter technology

Eaton’s vacuum interrupter technology is used for repetitive switching, motor inrush

current interruption, fault protection, and overcurrent and short-circuit protection.

Eaton‘s environmentally friendly medium-voltage interrupters are capable of reliably

switching high-stress currents robustly and carrying their rated continuous current

without forced cooling.

• Controlled contact erosion results in long life and maintenance-free operation

• Hard contact material minimizes contact sticking in a vacuum and is ideal for

high-current applications

• Atmospheric contact contamination is eliminated because oxides and corrosion

layers cannot form on the contacts

• Noise and flash free: All arcing is confined in the vacuum interrupter

• Environmentally friendly: Unlike other solutions that use SF6 (a highly hazardous

gas) for insulation, Eaton’s vacuum interrupters feature current interruption

that occurs in a vacuum and does not emit greenhouse or toxic gases

• Low average chopping current results in a minimal induced transient voltage

spike; therefore, suppressors are often not required

• Vacuum dielectric permits contacts to be arranged closer together, allowing

circuit interruptions to be designed in a smaller envelope

• Solid insulation increases external dielectric performance

EATON FP-5000 Protective Relay

Product Overview

General Description

The Eaton FP-5000 Protective Relay is a multifunction panel

mounted, microprocessor-based relay, designed for both ANSI

and IEC applications (Figure 1). It is a self-contained device which

operates from either ac or dc control power and provides true

rms sensing of each phase and ground current. Only one relay is

required per 3-phase circuit. Current, voltage and operator

selectable protective functions are integral to each device. The FP

5000 is designed to protect the mains, ties or feeders at any

voltage level. It is primarily applied on medium voltage

distribution circuits up to 69 kV. The FP-5000 monitors several

primary and derived electrical parameters of the system.

Alfa Laval Hybrid Powder Mixer S15 Working principle

Working principle

The two-stage inline Alfa Laval Hybrid Powder Mixer S15 is

typically integrated into a circulation loop connected to a

batch tank.

After adding liquid ingredients to the tank, the Hybrid Powder

Mixer circulates the liquid over the tank. To provide additional

high-efficiency mixing for tanks with volumes larger than 1 – 2

m³, Installing an Alfa Laval Rotary Jet Mixer is highly

recommended.

When adding powder to the liquid, the powder is added

through the funnel. The valve under the funnel is opened. The

injector positioned under the valve creates an underpressure

in the funnel outlet, drawing the powder into the rotor-stator

and pre-blending the products. The rotor/stator (single rings)

creates the main shear, dynamically and efficiently blending

powder and liquid into a homogeneous mixture.

The pump impeller in the second stage creates the final shear

and transfers the powder-liquid mixture to the tank under high

pressure. A portion of the powder-liquid mixture is sent

through the injector back to stage one. This way, the liquid

flow in the injector creates the underpressure in the funnel

outlet, which enables the dynamic suction of the powder into

the liquid.

When the mixing is completed, the Hybrid Powder Mixer may

be used as a discharge pump, or as a Cleaning-in-Place (CIP)

recirculation pump to clean the tank when used in combination

with an Alfa Laval Rotary Jet Mixer.
