IEC 60870-5-104 Server Specifications

Operating in the Server mode, the module accepts commands from a Client(s) to

read/write data stored in the module’s internal registers. This data is easily and

continuously transferred between the MVI56-104S, Edition 2 module and the

ControlLogix processor’s data registers.

Prosoft MVI56-104S General Specifications – 104S

General Specifications – 104S

Operating in server mode (only), the 104S protocol implementation accepts commands

from an IEC-60870-5-104 Client to read data stored in or write data into the gateway’s

internal database memory registers. The 104S implementation is also capable of generating

unsolicited messages. Unsolicited messages can be either spontaneous (event-driven) or

cyclic (timing-driven) communication.

The remote Client device uses the fully-configurable gateway memory database to control

outputs and monitor inputs to devices on the

IEC 104 network.  Changes to the gateway database can also be used to transfer monitoring

and control data to devices connected to

the gateway using another installed network protocol. The 104S gateway thus provides a data

transfer solution between an IEC 60870

5-104 Ethernet network and other serial and Ethernet network protocols, as well as proprietary interfaces.

Prosoft MVI56-104S IEC 60870-5-104 Ethernet Server Communication Module with Edition 2 Support

ControlLogix compatible processors to interface easily with IEC 60870-5

104 protocol-compatible hosts.

The MVI56-104S module acts as an input/output module between the IEC

60870-5-104 Ethernet network and the ControlLogix processor. Data

transfer between the module and the processor is asynchronous from the

actions on the network. Databases are defined by the user for the module to

hold data as required by the protocol.

Prosoft MVI56-EGD Features and Benefits

Features and Benefits

GE Fanuc Automation and GE Drive Systems developed an Ethernet

Global Data, or EGD, exchange for PLC and computer data in 1998.

Ethernet Global Data (EGD) offers versatility where a mix of control

devices requires cooperation with each other. This involves sharing

of information across the applications regardless of device or network

type, often at high speed, and with high reliability. High reliability

means fewer communication failures and having the ability to detect

failures upon occurrence. Particular emphasis is delivered for

applications requiring periodic or frequent updates and time

synchronization of devices. The protocol supports Unicast, Broadcast

and Multicast group messaging. Efficiency is based on the fact each

device on the network can produce these types of messages and

each device determines which of these messages to consume.

Prosoft MVI56-EGD GE Ethernet Global Data Communication Module

MVI56-EGD

The Ethernet Global Data (EGD) module can be used to interface

many different protocols with EGD devices. The EGD driver supports

both the producer/consumer service port (18246) and the command

service port (7937) using the UDP protocol over an IP network. The

user defines the data to be produced and consumed in a

configuration file downloaded to the module.

General Specifications

• Single Slot – 1756 backplane compatible

• The module is recognized as an Input/Output module and has

access to processor memory for data transfer between

processor and module

• Ladder Logic is used for data transfer between module and

processor. Sample ladder file included.

• Configuration data obtained from configuration text file

downloaded to module. Sample configuration file included

• Local or remote rack

Prosoft MVI56-LTQ Limitorque Valve Actuator Master Communication Module

The MVI56 Limitorque Valve Actuator Master Communication Module allows

ControlLogix compatible processors to interface easily with Limitorque Valve

Actuators and other Limitorque protocol compatible devices.

The MVI56-LTQ module acts as an input/output module between the Limitorque

valve network and the ControlLogix processor. The data transfer from the

ControlLogix processor is asynchronous from the actions on the network. The

1500-word register space in the module transfers the valve information from the

module to the processor. Ladder logic is responsible for control of the valves.

Data transferred from the processor to the module instructs the module to

execute commands to valves on the Limitorque network.

Prosoft MVI56E-AFC Features

Features

 Meter Runs: The module can calculate up to 16 meter runs simultaneously

with a maximum of 16 streams on a single meter run

(64 streams maximum per module shared among all 16-meter runs).

This flexibility provides a cost-effective, highly scalable solution for all your

measurement applications.

 Modbus® Capabilities: Remote configuration and diagnostics via Ethernet

(Modbus TCP/IP) or Serial (Modbus) interfaces.

Flexible serial port configurations allow for either two Modbus slave ports or

one Modbus slave and one Modbus Master port. All

data, including configuration, calculated results, and historical archives, are

available using either the Modbus TCP/IP server or Modbus slave serial ports.

 Customized Modbus Data Mapping: Remapping to a virtual slave enables

data concentration, reducing bandwidth load on the communication system.

 Auditability: Our configuration software provides the ability to download

and view archives and events. Audit Scan captures process inputs and

calculated results as “snapshots”, allowing verification of calculations.

The Log files record significant events and alarms. Hourly and daily archives

are configurable historical records of user-selected data.

The data can be viewed online, printed, or saved to a file in .txt or .csv format.

Archive data can be exported to Flow-Cal .cfx format. Meter calibration and

verification are stored on the module.

 Meter Proving: Allows for meter proving with 3 configurable prover types.

 Security: Password protection schemes are available to control user access

and log meter calibration and verification activities.

A built-in web server allows local/remote configuration, monitoring, and wireless

network diagnostics.

Prosoft MVI56E-AFC Enhanced Liquid & Gas Flow Computer for ControlLogix®

ProSoft Technology’s MVI56E-AFC in-chassis flow computer solution allows you

to combine the power and scalability of a ControlLogix® automation system with

the functionality typically only seen in a stand-alone flow computers or dedicated

measurement RTU’s. This provides you with the industry standard calculations,

archiving, and reporting needed for custody transfer and allocation-based

measurement functions for Oil and Gas operations.

By combining automation and measurement functions into a single solution, this

helps to reduce overall support and integration costs for Oil and Gas

applications while also decreasing your overall capital spend. This simplified

solution allows you to optimize your resources.

In addition, because our flow computer sits in a ControlLogix system, you can

take advantage of Rockwell Automation’s distributed I/O capability, wide range

of communications protocols, and ProSoft’s wireless radios to greatly reduce

wiring to your transmitters and I/O devices.

Since the module operates as a co-processor for measurement related functions

to the ControlLogix system, and as measurement requirements of the site grow,

you can simply add an additional MVI56E-AFC module to increase your

measurement capabilities to an individual site. A truly scalable automation and

measurement solution.
