Woodward’s easYsim simulation tool revolutionizes power system testing by creating digital

Woodward’s easYgen | LS-6XT control is a synchronizer controller with integrated mains decoupling

and protection features. It enables several redundant communication schemes with peer controls.

The applications range from independent synch check relay to complex power management system

with multiple utility feeds, bus tie breakers and group breakers in combination with Woodward’s

easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers and/or easYgen | GC-3400XT equipped genset

groups.

Redundant busses running among the peer controls ensure that availability of your power generation

asset is not compromised to a single point of failure.

The LS-6XT control together with easYgen-3000XT controls are designed to support OEM switch-gear

builders, generator packagers, and system integrators standardize on a single hardware for a multitude of

utility parallel or island operations. Off-the-shelf LS-6XT control is software configurable for one/two

breaker control, gensets / genset groups handling, and stand-alone/multi-unit application. The LS-6XT

controller is available in a rugged aluminum powder coated housing. An LED Annunciator plate is

integrated to the front for local annunciation of alarms that are customizable on-site. Woodward RP-

3000XT is supported over a separate Ethernet network that works as remote operator control panel.

Woodward’s LS-5 Series relays

LS-5 Breaker Controller

Woodward’s LS-5 Series relays are synchronizer controllers with integrated mains de-coupling

and protection features. The applications range from independent synch check relay to

complex power management with multiple utility feeds, bus tie-breakers and group breakers

in combination with Woodward’s easYgen-3400XT/3500XT equipped genset controllers.

Wiring efforts are reduced to a minimum, since only one CAN bus connection is required

between all LS-5 and easYgen controllers to transmit AC measurement signals, I/O states, flags, etc.

The LS-5×1 devices manage synchronization, loading and un-loading on each bus segment

and send the required voltage, frequency and phase angle references via CAN bus to the

easYgen-3400XT/3500XT genset controllers. When serving an incoming mains breaker it

automatically detects mains failure, performs mains decoupling and sends the start signal

to the easYgen. The LS-5×1 is software selectable to be applied as an independent synch

check relay, mains circuit breaker control or bus tie-breaker control thereby providing exceptional

versatility and value for OEM switchgear builders, generator packagers, and system integrators.

The LS-5×1 Series is available in two different mounting styles. An LS-521 with a plastic housing

and graphic LCD display is designed to be mounted on the cabinet’s front door.

An LS-511 with an aluminum powder coated housing without display is designed to be back panel

mounted.

APPLICATION OVERVIEW

The easYview comes prepared with two basic application modes: a remoteHMI mode and a miniSCADA

mode.

 In the remoteHMI mode, the easYview connects to one or more devices via VNC connection and

receives

the remote HMI screens of the connected easYgen-XT or LS-6XT devices. Depending upon the easYview

screen size (7’, 10’ or 15’), 1. 2 or 4 different remote HMI screens can be shown simultaneously.

This mode is suitable for detailed connection to a single controller and helps troubleshoot,

commission, parametrize, Alarm/event log etc.

 In the miniSCADA mode, the easYview connects to multiple easYgen-XT or LS-6XT devices via Modbus

TCP connection and offers a plant level visualization. This mode is designed to keep operators informed

during regular operation and maintenance to visualize most frequent / favorite values often from system

perspective without going into details. The miniSCADA mode also has a built-in remoteHMI capability.

Off-the-shelf easYview comes prepared with 3 easYgen-3000XT controllers in island or utility parallel

operation.

Tunables are available for customizations such as, deleting an easYgen, changing color of live bus bar,

changing utility source data etc. However, for any major customization such as adding an easYgen-XT,

LS-6XT or 3rd party device, adjusting single line diagram, etc, an atvise® Builder tool is required.

Features

   Off-the-shelf easYview supports two operation modes,

   miniSCADA – multiple easYgen-XT and/or LS-6XT connects via Modbus TCP connection. Data struc

ture prepared for a total 6 devices (3x easYgen-XT and 3x LS-6XT).

   remoteHMI – VNC connection to single controllers. Depending upon the easYview screen size (7’, 10’

DESCRIPTION

Woodward’s easYview is a family of visualization touch-panels designed for system level visualization. It is

customized to provide users a miniSCADA visualization solution for a fleet of gensets controlled by

Woodward power management controllers. It is particularly useful for switchgear builders, genset

packagers and system integrators as an off-the-shelf HMI option for any application where a secure

remote control, monitoring, and visualization are desired such as hospitals, data centers, offshore rigs,

landfill, rental, and wastewater gas-to power applications to name a few.

easYview is available in three display sizes keeping the digital core constant but expanding the touch

display from small (7”) and medium (10”) to large (15”) screens. Combined with a versatile atvise® SCADA

software tool, it makes an excellent multi-device visualization system as device connections (easYgen-XT

family and LS-6XT to start with) are already made and data structure is already set-up to help minimize

your engineering effort while providing flexibility that is expected from a scalable platform. VNC is

supported across the easYview family for detailed connection to single controllers making it ideal not only

for commissioning and troubleshooting your PowerGen assets but also for operating and maintaining

them later. Additionally, extended operating

temperature range combined with strict ingress protection, wide viewing angle, anti-glare treatment and strong

Luminance makes it as good for outdoor use as for indoor installations.
