ABB NE810 Features and benefits

Features and benefits

• Pre-configured for use with System 800xA

• NE810 supports redundant power connection

• Enhanced monitoring using PNSM

• Industrial Ethernet 10-port switch

• Long life duration

• Fully supported by ABB

NE810 is an Industrial switch made for harsh environments. Due to

our multi-rate SFP solution, the switch can be used in either 100

Mbit or Gigabit networks. Our unique FRNT (Fast Recovery of

Network Topology) technology is the fastest protocol on the

market to re-configure a network in case of any link or hardware

failure. That is why NE810 is also used in safety-critical applications

such as tunnels, traffic signal control, and railway systems.

Installations in harsh environments and places with heavy electrical

interference require the use of reliable media. NE810 provides a

number of solutions using fiber optic transceivers. Multi- or singlemode

transceivers can be used to build point-to-point or

redundant ring networks with ranges up to 120 km between each switch.

a single fiber can be used in applications where the number of fiber

cores is limited.

Real-time properties are implemented in the switch in order to

achieve determinism for real-time critical applications. NE810

supports QoS (Quality of Service) with four priority queues and

strict priority scheduling as well as HoL (Head of Line Blocking

Prevention). All to assure that the data network is deterministic.

The unit is designed for use in industrial applications with dual 10 to

57 VDC power input. The unique “tri-galvanic” isolation provides

isolation between al ports, power supply and between each chassis

screen avoiding ground loop currents. The IP21 rating ensures that

the unit can be instaled in locations where condensed water may

occur. Only industrial grade components are used which gives the

units an MTBF of 1.182.000 hours and ensures a long service life. A

wide operating temperature range of –40 to +70 °C (–40 to +158 °F)

can be achieved with no moving parts.

HE959CPU250 & HE959CPU300 – Powerful CPU with Horner OCS I/O Expansion

HE959CPU250 & HE959CPU300 – Powerful CPU with Horner OCS I/O Expansion

The OCS Lineup is Expanding!

The Horner OCS that features a combined controller, HMI, I/O

and networking has been very sucessful since its launch in the

1990’s. We are now launching CPUs that can be expanded with

OCS I/O and viewed and controlled by a remote connected

screen or by a web browser.

CPU250

The CPU250 is Horner’s Micro OCS equivalent in the OCS CPU

lineup. Serial, Ethernet, and CAN communications are available

as standard, as well as support for WebMI that can be used as a

remote interface. It also makes a transition to USB-C for programming

purposes, and can even be powered locally by the same connection,

in order to easily load a program on your test bench or desk setup!

Like the Micro OCS lineup, the CPU250 comes with a great amount

of onboard I/O. Up to 34 I/O points – a whopping 16 of

which can be configured as analog! And if that isn’t enough,

as part of the OCS-I/O family it can easily be expanded

with up to 7 OCS-I/O modules locally as well.

With the all-new CPU300 in Horner’s OCS CPU series

CPU300

With the all-new CPU300 in Horner’s OCS CPU series, this

advanced product really shines with the unseen flexibility of an

All-In-One controller design. It starts with a powerful multi-core

SOM with performance on par with Horner’s Canvas series of

controllers and includes a suite of new connectivity

including USB Type C, dual ethernet ports with support for a

built-in switch, and a new Display connection for remote displays

that Horner has branded as “Plug and Play Displays”.

This connection provides power and display/touch signals to

Plug and Play displays in a simplified and robust cable

connection, fit for traditional panel builds as well as harsher

environments such as mobile applications. It can be used with a

variety of available screen sizes and resolutions, while still

supporting a local 2.2” display that can be used for advanced

diagnostics without the need for an HMI if needed.

On top of all the connectivity options is the ability to use OCS

I/O modules as local I/O up to 7 modules, plus an additional

dedicated OCS-I/O port that can be used in junction with an

other rack of OCS-I/O modules (1 base + up to 7 modules) that

can also be treated as local synchronous I/O. This dedicated

port provides 24V power to the remote I/O base to once again

provide a very simplified connection to all of your system hardware and

reduce the number of terminal connections needed in your panel wiring.

Horner Din Rail Alignment Requirements

Din Rail Alignment Requirements

1. Confirm that the DIN rail is in a horizontal position before installing the unit.

Horizontal orientation is required to avoid module slippage on the DIN rail.

2. Align the unit on the DIN rail then push the DIN rail clip to until it clicks in to place.

Check to ensure that the unitis secure on the DIN rail.

Mounting Orientation

NOTE: Do NOT mount the unit on its side as this may cause the unit from slipping off the DIN rail.

l Mount the CPU300 with the locking DIN tab facing down.

l As modules mount on a DIN rail, be certain that the DIN rail is in a horizontal position before installing the unit.

A horizontal orientation is required to prevent the unit from slipping off the DIN rail.

Module Removal

Modules maybe removed while powered;however,I/O scanning on the remaining modules will stop

and I/O will go into  the default state until a new module is inserted and all modules in the configuration are present.

1.Insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the DIN rail latch at the bottom of the module.

2.Pry down wards on the release latch.

3.Rock the module up and off the DIN Rail.

Horner CPU300 and HMI Connect Series Mounting Overview

Mounting Overview

The mechanical installation greatly affects the operation, safety, and appearance of the system.

Information is provided to mechanically install the unit such as cut-out sizes,

mounting procedures, and other recommendation sfor the correct mechanical installation of the unit.

Requirements

l Each module is compact and mounts on the DIN rail. Each I/O module installed adds

width in increments of 19mm.The distance between wiring duct and surrounding

modules must be at least 50mm apart.

l The DIN rail clip adds to the overall measurements. The CAN,power,LAN,and serial connectors also add

to the measurements.

l Modules can be added after the base has been installed on the DIN rail and can be hot swapped with

power applied.

NOTE: I/O scanning will stop until the correct modules for the system are detected in all slots.
