Application: Power supply unit 560PSU01 for RTU560 racks

The power supply unit 560PSU01 provides two supply voltages (5 V DC and 24 V DC)

for the RTU560 subracks 560MPR03 and 560SFR02.

The output power is sufficient to power up to 4 subracks of communication units (CMUs).

For project configurations with high availability requirements, redundant power supplies can be

configured.

In this configuration, the two power supply units 560PSU01 operate in parallel mode.

ABB The 560CMR02 Communication Unit is one of the CMU modules Applications

Applications

The 560CMR02 Communication Unit is one of the CMU modules of the RTU560 product family.

Its main tasks are

– Managing and controlling the I/O modules via the serial I/O bus interface.

– Read process events from the input modules.

– Send commands to the output modules.

– Communicate with the control system and the local HMI system via the serial interface (RS232) and the

Ethernet 10/100BaseT interface.

– Communicates with sub-RTUs, IEDs, or multimeter devices via interface (RS485) and Ethernet interfaces.

– Manages the time base of RTU560 product line stations and synchronizes I/O modules.

– Handles the dialog between the RTU560 product line and a Web browser through the LAN interface.

The board occupies two slots in the RTU560 chassis.

The communication unit handles communication protocols based on Ethernet and UART characters.

The unit is equipped with a battery-buffered real-time clock (RTC).

The unit is available in two versions:

– R0001: with standard network security

– R0002: with security chip with advanced network security features

ABB Communication Unit 560CMR02 Features

The ARM cortex A8 controller AM3352 is used to implement the real-time operating system. 560CMR02 is responsible for the interface management, event processing, and internal database.

The 560CMR02 is responsible for interface management, event processing, and internal database. The controller acts as a master for the SPB I/O bus (Serial Peripheral Bus). the RTU560 is synchronized with the time base provided by the 560RTC0x.

Time information from the 560RTC0x is provided to the 560CMR02 on the subrack backplane.

System-related configuration files are stored on a non-volatile flash memory card (Removable SD Card™) to ensure that the system configuration is valid after a power-on reset (PoR).

The battery buffer RTC is used to maintain accurate time in the event of a power failure.

The communication unit provides the following interfaces:

– Communication ports 1 … Communication ports 1 … 6 (CP1 … Communication ports 1 … 6 (CP1 … CP6): RS232C or RS485 serial interface with RJ45 connector CP1 and CP2 can be configured independently of each other as SPB I/O bus interfaces for the front end.

– Ethernet interfaces 1 and 2 (E1 and E2): 10/100BaseT with RJ45 connectors.

– USB 2.0 device interface for diagnostics and maintenance.

– The SPB I/O bus connects directly to the backplane connector.

Kollmorgen AKD2G Servo Drives have integrated safety functions

Our servo drives are typically paired with our extensive line of Kollmorgen servo motors,

which provide the most popular feedback support on the market (including resolvers,

incremental encoders, BiSS, EnDat, Hiperface, sinusoidal encoders).

Our servo drives have continuous duty power outputs ranging from 300 watts to 50,000 watts.

With peak runtimes of a full 5 seconds in some drives, typically 3 times the rated continuous current,

many applications can use significantly smaller servo drives and extend the dynamic performance of the

servo drive family.

Connectivity is a key aspect of the machine, so we support many popular Ethernet fieldbuses such as

EtherCAT,EtherNet/IP, Profinet and SynqNet, and some models also support traditional fieldbuses

including Profibus,Devicenet, CanOpen, RS485, RS232 and Sercos II. Sercos II.

An upcoming technology to make machines safer is functionally integrated safety in servo drives.

The Kollmorgen S700 and AKD2G servo drives have integrated safety functions.

This enables machine builders to create inherently safer machines with flexible safety zones and less

wiring and configuration than ever before.

With the perfectly adapted AKD2G servo drive, the Kollmorgen 2G motion control system can fully

realize the full potential of our new generation servo motor, the AKM2G, and deliver unmatched power

density and control.

Kollmorgen EtherCAT Coupler connects the real-time Ethernet system

Features

The EtherCAT Coupler connects the real-time Ethernet system EtherCAT with modular, expandable

electronic terminal blocks.

A unit consists of a Bus Coupler, a set of terminals and a terminal.

The Bus Coupler recognizes the connected Bus Terminals and automatically assigns them to the EtherCAT

process image.

The Bus Coupler is connected to the network via the upper Ethernet interface.

The lower RJ 45 socket can be used to connect other EtherCAT devices in the same strand.

In an EtherCAT network, the EtherCAT Coupler can be installed anywhere in the

Ethernet signaling section (100BASE-TX) – except directly on the switch.

EtherCAT (Ethernet Control Automation Technology) is an Ethernet solution for industrial

automation characterized by excellent performance and particularly simple operation.

etherCAT enables Ethernet star topologies to be replaced by simple line structures.

In addition, EtherCAT can also be wired in the “classic” way using switches for the integration of additional

Ethernet devices.

The master does not require special plug-in cards and can be realized on any existing Ethernet controller

using very simple interfaces.

EtherCAT is therefore also ideally suited for small and medium-sized control applications and will open up

new fields of application for distributed I/O.
