The 2301E provides load distribution and speed control for generators driven by diesel or gas engines.
Using the built-in flexible configuration software, application variants can now be selected using an external computer (PC).
Changing the application www.cniacs.com to suit the engine speed range, gear teeth and selecting forward or reverse action is just a software setup away.
The 2301E controller is backward compatible with the existing 2301D product as it has the same footprint and mounting configuration.
The new controller ensures the continued availability of a proven and versatile product with enhanced features:
-Separate RS-232 and RS-422 serial ports, both with 9-pin connectors
-Additional status LEDs for power and RS-422 communication
-Failure data logging feature that collects 16 seconds of data every 10 milliseconds during shutdown, peak speed, and load detection events
-Low current PWM output for driving Woodward L-Series, F-Series, P-Series and PISC actuators
-New terminal block accommodates additional I/O, with most terminals located in the same location as the 2301D model.
-Major compliance approvals
-Engine/generator or pump applications
-Multiple dynamics
-Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) limiter
-Torque limiter
-Low speed sensing capability
-Remote speed and load reference
-Soft load transfer
-Automatic idle to rated switching
-Load dump/load pulse option
-Idle down function
-Optional Modbus® serial communication
-Adaptive speed sensing algorithm
-Two serial ports
-Data logging function
-2301E ToolKit service tool or Control Assistant programmable
-Common or hazardous location chassis
Replacements:
8273-1012 is a direct replacement for 8273-139 and 8273-141
The Woodward 2301E microprocessor-based controller has the same functionality as the 2301A Load Sharing and Speed Controller and the 2301D Load Sharing and Speed Controller.
The control unit is housed in a sheet metal enclosure for general and hazardous locations and consists of a single printed circuit board.
The 2301E is configured using a computer equipped with Control Assistant software or the Woodward ToolKit service tool.
The computer is connected to the 2301E via a 9-pin connector (RS-232 port). Modbus control is available through a second serial port (RS-422).
The controller is powered by a 24 Vdc power supply.
The 2301E includes
1 load cell circuit
1 actuator driver, 4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, 0-200 mA or PWM
1 MPU speed sensor
1 configurable analogue output
2 configurable analogue inputs
8 discrete (switching) inputs
4 discrete (relay driver) outputs
The 2301E has an operating temperature range of -40 to +70 °C (-40 to +158 °F).
