Emerson PACSystems RX3i Ethernet IEC 104 Server Module IC695EIS001 Introduction

Introduction

The PACSystems RX3i Ethernet IEC 104 Server Module, catalog number IC695EIS001. implements the IEC 60870-5-104

communications protocol. It permits a PACSystems RX3i controller to be connected to an Ethernet network using a

standard TCP/IP connection scheme, allowing an IEC 104 Client to poll data from the Server, as well generate unsolicited

communications from the Server back to the Client.

Two auto-sensing 10BaseT/100BaseTX RJ-45 shielded twisted-pair Ethernet ports permit direct connection to either a

10BaseT or 100BaseTX IEEE 802.3 network without an external transceiver. Line, Star and Daisy Chain topologies are

supported.

The RX3i Ethernet IEC 104 Server Module hosts the IEC104 Server side protocol on a common RX3i ETM001-Jx module

hardware platform. Thus, many of the specifications and behaviors are shared with the ETM001 module including

protocol support. IC695EIS001 is an Ethernet-connected module that fits in the RX3i backplane and permits the RX3i

to behave as a Server on the IEC104 network. The data exchanges between the EIS001 module and IEC104 Client(s) are

configurable, using a single COMMREQ instruction in the ladder logic or Structured Text program.

Emerson PACSystems RX3i IC695ECM850 Ethernet Communication Module

The PACSystems RX3i IEC 61850 Ethernet Communication Module, catalog number IC695ECM850. or ECM850.

connects a PACSystems RX3i controller to an IEC 61850 network, enabling the controller to act as an IEC 61850 Client

and communicate with Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs, IEC 61850 Servers) on the network using the IEC 61850

protocol.

Sweep Impact of ECM850

The impact of the ECM850 on RX3i CPU sweep time is a function of the number of ECM850 modules in the RX3i

hardware configuration (four maximum) and the I/O data size configured for each ECM850 module. The table below

shows the measured sweep impact of a single ECM850 module for a range of I/O data sizes. Use the data in this table

to calculate expected impact on RX3i CPU sweep times. The configured IO Data size will be available in the message

zone of the IEC 61850 Configurator after configuration validation.

Emerson M-series MD Plus Controller Benefits

Has the flexibility to meet your needs

Advanced operations. The MD Plus Controller is equipped to handle the DeltaV Batch option,

as well as advanced control functions.

You can also use advanced control function such as Neural and Model Predictive Control on the MD Plus controller.

Data pass-through. The controller is equipped with the ability to pass smart HART

 information from field devices to any workstation node in the control network.

This means you can take advantage of applications, such as Asset Management Solutions,

that enable you to remotely manage the HART information contained

in your HART or FOUNDATION fieldbus-equipped devices.

Prepares you for the future. As your system grows, you can expand your software license

to increase the number of device signal tags (DSTs) allocated to the DeltaV controller.

egin with 50 and expand to 750 DSTs. Control strategy complexity and control module

scan rates determine overall controller performance and application size.

A redundant controller may be added to back up an MD Plus Controller online.

The standby controller comes online automatically, with a bumpless transition.

For more information, refer to the I/O Redundancy product data sheet.

Emerson M-series MD Plus Controller Benefits Easy to use

Easy to use

Total control. The controller manages all control activities for the I/O interface channels.

It also manages all communication functions for the communications network.

Time tamping, alarming, and trend objects are also managed within the controller.

The controller executes all control strategy with execution speeds up to every 100 ms.

Data protection. Each time you install data in a DeltaV controller, the installation information is automatically saved.

Likewise, when users make online configuration changes to a controller, the system stores these changes as well.

This way, the system always retains a complete record of all the data

that has been installed in the controller and any online changes that have been made.

Cold restart. This feature ensures that in case of power failure, the controller will restart without

manual intervention and without any other device present on the network.

Now, you don’t have to reboot from the workstation.

Simply set the restart state of the controller to current conditions.

Note: To prevent process disruption during a short power loss,

an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is available for the controller.

Emerson FloBoss™ S600+ Flow Computer Communications

Communications

The S600+ offers multiple communication options that allow you to interface to

a variety of devices (including intelligent primary elements such as USM and Coriolis meters,

for which the S600+ has many embedded drivers).

The S600+ can be connected to serial and network printers.

The increased communication capability of the S600+ enables you to maximize

the benefits that are being increasingly realized with these intelligent meters.

Additionally, you can use the same communication ports to access

the process data that is calculated and stored by the S600+.

Available communication interfaces include the following:

▪ Two independent Ethernet 10/100baseT ports.

▪ HART® communication is facilitated using an optional 12-channel HART module,

supporting point-to-point and multi-drop architectures (up to 50 transmitters).

▪ An embedded web server allows remote access to the flow computer.

This allows for remote diagnostics, report access, and configuration.

Security is provided by way of user name and password protection with a detailed event log for audit

purposes.

Compatible with Windows® Internet Explorer® version 5 or greater

(version 9 or greater must use compatibility mode) and Microsoft® Edge™ browser.

▪ Two configurable EIA-232 (RS-232) serial ports for connection to a printer or RTU.

▪ Seven EIA-422/485 (RS-422/RS-485) serial ports (up to 57600 bps baud) for connection to intelligent

meters, Modbus SCADA data networks, or a DCS Supervisory System.

▪ USB 2.0 port for downloading reports and alarm/event logs.

▪ One dedicated configuration port for connection to the Config600™ configuration software.

Emerson FloBoss™ S600+ Flow Computer Compatibility

Compatibility

The S600+ is fully backwards-compatible with the previous S600 model.

The device utilizes existing configurations and tools that you are familiar with.

This saves you time otherwise spent on learning and configuring with new tools,

and helps to preserve your previous capital investments.

You can easily convert existing S600 units to S600+ units,

bringing all the benefits of the new product to your existing installation.

The S600+ has been designed to safeguard the future supply and support of the S600 family for many

years to come.

Investing in the new S600+ is low risk because the metrological calculations and code utilized in the

S600+ has already been field

proven in the S600. The S600+ provides increased processing power and memory.

This allows Energy and Transportation Solutions to continue to add new features and functionality to the

S600+, and ensures that users continue to benefit from their investment.

Emerson DeltaV™ Redundant Controller Product Description

Product description

For critical process control applications that cannot tolerate interruptions, the DeltaV system provides controller redundancy.

For critical process control applications that cannot tolerate interruptions, DeltaV systems offer controller redundancy.

The redundant controller contains the same control strategy as the active controller.

A redundant link transmits control parameters to the standby controller

to ensure that it is ready to take over from the active controller.

parameters to the standby controller to ensure that it is ready to take over control if needed.

When redundancy is enabled, each module calculates the updates required by the standby controller.

These updates are transmitted to the standby controller via the redundant link.

These additional operations of controller redundancy Redundancy typically reduces CPU idle time by about 10%. About 10 percent.

When a failure is detected, the standby controller can take over without affecting the process control signals.

The DeltaV Event Chronicle stores a record of each switchover and the reason for the switchover, if a reason has been determined.

Replacing an existing standby controller is as simple as removing the existing unit and installing a new controller.

Replacing an existing standby controller is as simple as removing the existing unit and installing a new controller.

The activated controller will detect the spare controller and the system will automatically debug and download the new hardware.

Redundancy In addition to redundant hardware, a redundant license is required.

Redundant controllers Redundant controllers are shown as individual nodes in the Explorer window, represented by the Redundant Controller icon.
