Emerson VersaMax Micro Scalable Micro PLCs 00813-0100-0113

Today’s manufacturing environment faces the

critical need for shorter production runs, quicker

changeovers, and just-in-time manufacturing.

Machines are no longer dedicated to a single

product and long production runs. VersaMax

Micro helps you address this challenge as a

scalable solution with precise and powerful

control in a compact design. With the flexibility

to enhance machine performance, availability,

and profitability, the modular VersaMax Micro

offers the features to match your application needs.

Application Flexibility and Scalability

VersaMax Micro PLCs  provide the scalability and flexibility

to cover a broad range of  applications. For applications that

require more I/O, up to four modules can be used to expand

the series of controllers. For smaller machines, units can be

used as a standalone controller with integrated I/O functions.

With I/O expansion modules and support of a portable

program FLASH memory module, the VersaMax Micro PLCs

provide the flexibility to configure a solution to your exact

requirements and budget.

Emerson RSTi-EP Controllers Programmable Automation Controller Small Footprint

Small Footprint. Big Impact.

Leverage the power and flexibility of PACSystems in smaller

applications. RSTi-EP CPUs make it possible to incorporate

the entire PACSystems programming suite in stand-alone

applications or as auxiliary control in larger process applications

that use RX3i. This simplifies training for operators and

maintenance workers and streamlines application development

and integration.

RSTi-EP CPUs support real-time application status, remote

diagnostics and:

nDual LAN interfaces with four Ethernet ports

nBuilt-in RS-232 serial port

nA range of communications protocols, including PROFINET

nAvailable DNP3 Outstation capability for Remote Terminal

Unit (RTU) applications

nUp to 1.5 MB of non-volatile user memory all in just 1.5”

(38.1mm) of DIN rail space

Emerson RSTi-EP Controllers Programmable Automation Controller Advanced Security

The demand for improved asset performance and

productivity is increasing in manufacturing and

infrastructure markets. They require even smaller

applications with robust execution performance

and a range of connectivity options to real-time

application status information and diagnostics.

Emerson has designed a small form factor,

high performance controller that enables

equipment builders to improve performance and

flexibility of their machines while reducing size,

complexity, and cost.

Advanced Security

Without proper cybersecurity in place, industrial controls

may be vulnerable to cyber threats. Emerson’s PAC, PLC

and industrial automation portfolio enlists defense-indepth

architecture to help secure assets from these threats.

RSTi-EP CPUs  incorporate technologies such as Trusted

Platform Modules and secure and trusted boot. Centralized

configuration allows encrypted firmware updates to be

executed from a secure central location. And, a suite of

cybersecurity technology and tools help prevent unauthorized updates.

Emerson Ethernet I/O Card (EIOC) Supported Industrial Ethernet Protocols

Supported Industrial

Ethernet Protocols:

Modbus TCP Interface

The Modbus TCP interface will support Modbus data

sources such as PLCs, MCCs, analyzers and similar devices

communicating Modbus TCP. The Modbus TCP interface is a

Modbus Client reading and writing data from/to Modbus Server

devices. The Modbus server devices can be Modbus TCP devices

or Modbus serial devices using a Modbus TCP gateway.

The Modbus TCP interface supports the following types of

data access:

„ Reading input data from Modbus Coils, Discrete Input,

Holding Registers, and Input Registers.

„ Writing output data to Coils and Holding registers.

All reads will be performed periodically and outputs will be

sent when they are written.

EtherNet /IP

The EtherNet/IP protocol allows data sources such as

PLCs, Intelligent Field Devices (IFDs), variable-speed drives,

MCCs, and analyzers; as well as other devices communicating

EtherNet/IP to connect directly in to DeltaV via the EIOC.

The EtherNet/IP interface will support connections for

both implicit and explicit messaging to allow access to both

Class 1 and Class 3 EtherNet/IP I/O adapters. Redundancy with

EtherNet/IP Class 1 Implicit and Class 3 Explicit messaging

for control (sending outputs to the devices) require special

considerations due to exclusive owner communications defined

by the protocol. Please refer to the DeltaV System Planning

Guide for more information. Class 3 PCCC and UCMM with

Logix tags message classes are also supported.

Emerson Ethernet I/O Card (EIOC) Product Description

Product Description

The EIOC is a big pipe for the integration of process data from

3rd party Ethernet Devices, such as PLCs and smart field devices

such as Intelligent Field Devices (IFDs) and Intelligent Electronic

Devices (IEDs). A network of these Ethernet Devices can be

directly connected to the EIOC. The Ethernet Devices can

communicate to the EIOC using one of five protocols;

Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS, OPC UA client

and EtherNet/IP Control Tag Integration. The EIOC connects

directly into the DeltaV Control Network and can be placed

remotely in an enclosure in the field.

The EIOC is an independent embedded data server. This means

that there is no need for a separate controller to process the

data being integrated into the EIOC. Control Modules needed

to process the data from the Ethernet Devices are assigned and

executed in the EIOC. In this way, communications with the

devices are fast and direct. Any parameters from the modules

running in the EIOC can be read by both S-series and M-series

controllers using External References when needed in control

strategies at the controller level.

Emerson Ethernet I/O Card (EIOC) Introduction

„ Powerful solution that communicates directly

to external Ethernet Device Networks

„ Easy connection to devices using Modbus TCP,

EtherNet/IP, IEC61850 MMS, OPC UA client or

EtherNet/IP Control Tag Integration protocols

„ Proven S-series packaging

„ Modular with easy to add redundancy

„ Communication to any M- and S-series Controller

Introduction

The Ethernet I/O Card (EIOC) provides a platform to access data

from Ethernet devices in the DeltaV™ system. Ethernet Devices

capable of talking Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, IEC 61850 MMS

(Manufacturing Message Specification), OPC UA client and

EtherNet/IP Control Tag Integration protocols are supported.

The EIOC provides monitoring and control of Ethernet Devices

on the Ethernet Device Network via control modules assigned

to and executed in the EIOC. Ethernet Devices like PLCs,

Motor Control Centers, drives, switchgear and others can be

controlled directly by the EIOC, independent of a controller

Emerson DeltaV™ Wireless I/O Card Product Description

Product Description

The WIOC is a native DeltaV I/O node that supports up to 100

wireless devices. The cards install on a 2-wide carrier, with each

card having its own Smart Wireless Field link. The WIOC can be

commissioned in a simplex mode if no redundancy is needed.

The WIOC allows redundancy to be completed later, when

needed – online and bumpless.

The WIOC carrier has two Ethernet IO Ports that connect to the

DeltaV Area Control Network and are available with copper or

fiberoptic media. The Smart Wireless Field links are connected

to the I/O card using a 4-conductor cable. The cable has a pair of

wires for power and a pair for the communication to the

field link.

The WIOC uses the Smart Wireless technology supported by

WirelessHART devices and a Self-Organizing Network.

„„ No wireless expertise is required; devices automatically find

the best communication paths with Adaptive Mesh Routing.

„„ Network continuously monitors paths for

degradation and repairs itself.

„„ Adaptive behavior provides reliable, hands-off

operation and simplifies network deployments,

expansion, and reconfiguration.
