By integrating fiber optic sensing capabilities into the

EZ-ZONE RM control system, users will save space, improve

performance with faster response times while simplifying

their control system.

Watlow’s EZ-ZONE RMZ and EZ-ZONE RMF make the system

adaptable to specific customer requirements. Both are

compatible with all other modules within the EZ-ZONE RM

family and self-discover all existing modules within the

system making a seamless integration into your temperature

control/logic system.

Key component of a Watlow Ecosystem Solution

• Integrates EZ-ZONE® RM, RMA PLUS™ and PM PLUS® controllers and

ASPYRE AT power controllers for a complete solution including Modbus®

TCP, EtherNet/IP™, or EtherCAT® communication.

• Eliminates discrete wiring between temperature controllers and power

controllers for each heater through the highspeed bakcplane interface with

Watlow controllers.

• Enables data collection and diagnostics from temperature, process and

power control

• Customizes for your application with programmable function blocks including

Watlow EZ-ZONE RM controller family is extremely flexible

This EZ-ZONE RM controller family is extremely flexible and scalable

allowing mixing and matching of I/O for one to 152 control loops and

limits, up to 256 monitor points and other controller functions including

counters, timers, math, and logic in an integrated control solution.

The DIN-rail mountable modules can be used as stand-alone controllers,

but when combined with other EZ-ZONE RM modules, PM PLUS controllers

and ASPYRE AT power controllers they form a Watlow Ecosystem Solution

sharing I/O and function block programming as a system.

The EZ-ZONE RM controller family includes several module types:

A temperature and process control, monitoring and over/under temperature

limit module, a high-density control module, a high-density limit module,

an input/output (I/O) expansion module, a high-density monitor/scanner

module, a fiber optic temperature sensor module, an EtherCAT® module

and a data logging and field communications access module. A system is

configured by connecting any combination of module types and configuring

with Watlow’s COMPOSER® software to address specific application needs.

Some Industrial processes such as heat treatment require precise temperatures

in order to comply with regulations and it is imperative that the workpiece

temperature is kept within specific limits. This can be difficult to achieve in

industrial plants where the operation of large machinery can cause fluctuations

in the voltage supply. In the case of resistive heaters a variation of 10% in the

supply voltage will generate a 20% variation in the power to the load, resulting

in undesirable temperature fluctuations. EFit SCR controller contains built in

compensation that continues to apply stable power with better than ±2% linearity

at the boundaries of the load, even during fluctuations in the supply. The result is

a reliable, repeatable heating process and high quality end products compliant to

demanding heat treatment standards.

Basic Temperature and Limit Controllers Provide Economical

Solution for a Wide Range of Applications

The basic and limit microprocessor-based controllers from

Watlow® provide an economical solution for applications

requiring simple on-off control. These controllers and limits

are available in a broad range of packaging options, allowing

users to select the best version for their individual application.

The controllers and limits are available with or without an

operator interface and can be ordered in a 1/8 DIN square panel

mount, DIN-rail mount or open-board design configurations.

The basic and limit design provides significant improvements

in the performance, repeatability and accuracy offered by

analog basic temperature and limit controllers.

The variable options for the SERIES CV (controller) and

SERIES LV (limit) include an operator interface for viewing

and selecting the set point. A red, four-character, seven

segment LED displays the set point to show the process

option. The set point selection is made with a continuous

turn rotary encoder, or with discrete up/down cursor keys.

Operating range temperature values are customer definable

in the product configuration part number.

The fixed options for the SERIES CF (controller) and

SERIES LF (limit) offer fixed set points and are supplied

without an operator interface. Operating set point

temperature values are customer definable in the product

configuration part number. The SERIES TM temperature

indicator is available as an additional order option.

These basic and limit controllers are UL® recognized and

include CE approvals. The limit controllers are FM approved

with special UL® approval for the open-board potted versions.

CV and LV panel mount controllers ordered with discrete

up/down cursor keys include NEMA 4X/IP65 seal protection.

Watlow’s basic temperature and limit controllers include

industry leading service and support and are backed by a

three-year warranty.

panels that are quickly configured to your specific application

requirements and delivered within two weeks. WATCONNECT

panels integrate Watlow’s high-quality heater, sensor,

temperature controller and power controller products for a

complete thermal solution. Normally, competitive custom

panels require significantly longer lead times. The broad

range of standard features allow customers to quickly

configure panels that usually would be considered custom

for delivery within two weeks.
