Beckhoff EL2502-0010 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel PWM output

The EL2502-0010 output terminal modulates the pulse width of a binary

signal, and outputs it electrically isolated from the E-bus.

The mark/space ratio is preset by a 16-bit value from the automation device.

The output stage is protected against overload and

short-circuit. The EtherCAT Terminal contains two channels whose signal

state is indicated by LEDs. The LEDs are driven in time with

the outputs, and show the duty factor by their brightness.

The EL2502-0010 supports EtherCAT distributed clock timestamps in

order to influence switching on, off and over of a PWM signal with

microsecond precision.

Beckhoff ED2504 | EtherCAT Terminal, 4-channel PWM output

The ED2504 EtherCAT Terminal offers up to four digital outputs,

which are output as pulse-width modulated signals. The output

signal can be modulated in both pulse width and frequency in

the range of 1 Hz to 64 kHz. The output level is determined by

the external voltage to be fed in and can be freely selected in

the range from 5 V DC to 24 V DC.

The outputs are short circuit and overcurrent protected.

Each channel also has a digital input with configurable filter times.

The switching characteristic can be selected as either positive

or ground switching (PNP/NPN) for each channel.

The input can be used as a digital input or to enable the PWM

output. If the PWM signal is used to control the fan, for example,

the additional input can be used for the measurement of rotary

speed.

The ED series EtherCAT Terminals have push-in connection

technology which makes wiring easy and tool-free.

Beckhoff EL2262 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel digital output, 24 V DC, 0.5 A, oversampling

The EL2262 digital output terminal connects the binary control output

signals at the process level with electrical isolation. The outputs are

controlled with an adjustable integral multiple (oversampling factor: n)

of the bus cycle frequency (n microcycles per bus cycle).

For each bus cycle, the EtherCAT Terminal receives a process data block

that is output consecutively. The timebase of the terminal can be

synchronized precisely with other EtherCAT devices via distributed

clocks. An output pattern with a significantly higher pulse sequence

than the bus cycle time is thus output precisely with the system-wide

timebase. This procedure enables the temporal resolution of the digital

output signals to be increased to n times the bus cycle time.

The maximum output rate is 1 Msamples/s.

Beckhoff EL2258 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel digital output, 24 V DC, 0.5 A, multi-timestamp

The 8-channel digital output terminal EL2258 connects the binary output

signals of the controller at the process level with electrical isolation.

As in the EL2252. the outputs of the EL2258 are switched with high

precision relative to the transferred time stamp, although there are certain

differences in the details: Eight instead of two channels, lower timestamp

resolution and auto activation, which enables consecutive switching tasks

in each cycle. The multi-timestamping feature allows each EtherCAT cycle

to capture or output as many events per channel as were preloaded in

the internal buffer.

The distributed clocks are used as time reference. In conjunction with

timestamp input terminals the EL2258 enables responses at equidistant

time intervals that are largely independent of the bus cycle time.

Beckhoff EL2252 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel digital output, 24 V DC, 0.5 A, timestamp

The EL2252 digital output terminal connects the binary control output

signals at the process level with electrical isolation. The outputs of the

EtherCAT Terminal are switched with high precision to match the

transferred timestamp, which has a resolution of 10 ns.

This technology enables output switching times to be specified precisely

across the system. The distributed clocks are used for reference.

In conjunction with the EL1252 (digital input terminal with time stamp),

the EL2252 enables responses with equidistant time intervals, largely

independent of the bus cycle time. Each output can be switched to high

resistance individually.

Beckhoff EL2212 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel digital output

The EL2212 digital output terminal connects the binary control signals

from the automation device on to the actuators at the process level

with electrical isolation. The multi-timestamp features allow each

EtherCAT cycle to capture as many events per channel as were

preloaded in the internal buffer.

The EL2212 supports the particularly fast switching of inductive loads,

such as valves or relays. 24 to 72 V DC supplies are connected to the

power contacts and passed through to the load when switched on.

After an adjustable waiting period the terminal begins to control

channel-wise the current in order to protect the load.

The switching process can be positioned exactly using the timestamp.

The switch-off process is also accelerated considerably by the pole 

reversal of the voltage. The two channels are independently controllable.

Beckhoff EL2202-0100 | EtherCAT Terminal, 2-channel digital output

The EL2202/EL2202-0100 digital output terminal connects the binary

control signals from the automation device on to the actuators at the

process level with electrical isolation. This terminal benefits from very

small output delay and is therefore suitable for signals requiring

particularly fast output. The EtherCAT Terminal has a push-pull output

that can be actively switched to 24 V, 0 V or high-impedance.

The EL2202-0100 contains two channels. LEDs indicate the signal state

 of each channel.

Unlike the EL2202. the EL2202-0100 already has distributed clocks (DC)

support enabled, i.e. the output data can be monitored synchronously

with other data from terminals with distributed clock support.

The system-wide DC accuracy is << 1 μs. The activation or deactivation

of the distributed clocks support can also be done by the user on the

EL2202 (see documentation), on the EL2202-0100 it is included ex works.

The EL2202/EL2202-0100 digital output terminal connects the

binary control signals from the automation device on to the

actuators at the process level with electrical isolation.

This terminal benefits from very small output delay and is therefore

suitable for signals requiring particularly fast output.

The EtherCAT Terminal has a push-pull output that can be actively

switched to 24 V, 0 V or high-impedance.

The EL2202-0100 contains two channels. LEDs indicate the signal

state of each channel.

Unlike the EL2202. the EL2202-0100 already has distributed clocks

(DC) support enabled, i.e. the output data can be monitored

synchronously with other data from terminals with distributed clock

support. The system-wide DC accuracy is << 1 μs. The activation or

deactivation of the distributed clocks support can also be done by

the user on the EL2202 (see documentation), on the EL2202-0100

it is included ex works.

Beckhoff EL2068 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel digital output

The EL2068 digital output terminal connects the binary control signals

of the automation device to the actuators at process level with electrical

isolation. This EtherCAT Terminal contains eight channels, which display

their signal status by means of LEDs. The integrated diagnostics can be

evaluated in the controller and are indicated by the LEDs. A diagnostic

bit is set for the affected channel if there is an overload.

The diagnostics serve to simplify the maintenance of the application.

In the EL2068. the outputs are supplied via the 24 V power contact.

The power contacts are looped through.

Beckhoff EL2044 | EtherCAT Terminal, 4-channel digital output

The EL2044 digital output terminal connects the binary 24 V DC

control signals from the automation device on to the actuators at

the process level with electrical isolation. The EtherCAT Terminal

contains four channels that indicate its signal state by means of

light emitting diodes. The integrated diagnostics can be evaluated

in the controller and is indicated by the LEDs. Maintenance of the

application is simplified by the diagnostics. The power contacts are

connected through. The reference potential of the outputs is the

0 V DC power contact. The outputs are supplied via the 24 V DC

power contact.
