Beckhoff ELX2008 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel digital output, 24 V DC, 30 mA, Ex i

The ELX2008 digital output terminal enables the direct connection

of intrinsically safe actuators located in hazardous areas classified

zone 0/20 or 1/21. The ELX2008 supplies an output voltage of 24

V DC and a maximum output current of 30 mA per channel.

The signal state of each channel is indicated by a light emitting diode.

EtherCAT terminals of the ELX series must always be operated in

conjunction with the ELX9560 power supply terminal. This terminal

generates an electrically isolated output voltage (24 V EX) from the

input voltage (24 V DC) for supplying the subsequent ELX terminals.

If a new power supply is required, the combination of an ELX9410

and an ELX9560 can be used so that further ELX terminals can be

added.

The ELX terminal segment must be terminated with one ELX9012.

two ELX9410 or one EK1110. The use of two ELX9410 allows the

use of EL terminals behind ELX terminals. With the EK1110. the

terminal segment can be continued via an EtherCAT cable,

for example to implement cable redundancy.

Beckhoff EL1918 | EtherCAT Terminal, 8-channel digital input

The EL1918 TwinSAFE component is a digital input terminal for sensors

with potential-free contacts for 24 V DC. The EtherCAT terminal has eight

fail-safe inputs, which are transmitted via FSoE to a TwinSAFE Logic-capable

component.

The EL1918 has safety parameters to specifically adapt the functionality to

the respective safety requirements. Thus, for example, test pulses can be

configured with fine granularity for all eight channels in order to be able

to connect as many types of sensors as possible.

The safety parameters are not stored directly on the component, but are

transmitted to the input terminal via a TwinSAFE Logic capable component

when the safety application is started. This simplifies service procedures,

because the component can simply be replaced.

Special features EL1918:

• 8 safe inputs

• integrated TwinSAFE Logic (functionality similar to the EL6910)

• up to 128 safe connections

• fine granular configuration of the test pulses of the individual channels

For applications without integrated TwinSAFE Logic, the EL1918-2200 can

be used.

Special features EL1918-2200:

• 8 safe inputs

• fine granular configuration of the test pulses of the individual channels

• TwinSAFE Logic not integrated
