Honeywell EP-DOCX-SCA-SMSC-100 Universal Marshalling Solution

Features

Universal Marshaling Solution provides standardized marshalling for central and distributed installations using signal

conditioning assemblies. The signal conditioning assemblies handle 16 I/O’s including disconnect, fusing as default, and

when needed signal conditioning adapters (SCA) including isolation, intrinsic safety, relay, and other functions can be

plugged in optionally. The SCA supports standardized cabinet assembly and wiring configurations without the need for

custom wiring..

The unique features of UMS include:

• Three level flexible field terminations are provided to cater to various field wiring

requirements.

• The Signal Conditioning Adapters are plugged into the USCA to eliminate the

need for a separate installation of isolators, relays, signal converters and barriers.

• USCA has integral (optional) fuse and knife disconnect for easier plant installation

and maintenance.

• D-Sub connector is provided on the USCA for interfacing with the IOTA.

• Field power is supplied through the USCA via the system integration cable (SIC)

from the Safety IOTA.

• Optional power connector is provided to supply power to the active signal

conditioning adapters.

• Optional 16 plug and play Signal Conditioning Adapters.

• Vertical mounting for more effective wiring since most field wiring applications require entry from the top or bottom of

the cabinet.

• An LED for a quick visual cue to draw the Maintenance Technician’s eye to important status information of relay and

active signal conditioning adapters.

Honeywell FC-SAI-1620M Safety High Density Analog Input Module IO FTA

IO FTA

The FTA module for IO converts input field signals to values appropriate for the Safety Manager input module being used,

or converts Safety Manager output module signals to values that can be used in the field.

For this conversion, the FTA can be used in combination with an input conversion module or an output conversion module.

FTA modules are available in widths of 70 mm (2.76 inches) or 109 mm (4.29 inches) and in lengths of 90 mm to 300 mm

(3.54 inches to 11.81 inches), depending on the FTA type.

The modules are mounted on standard DIN EN rails (TS32 or TS35 x 7.5).

The FTA may contain electronic circuitry to convert standard Safety Manager signals into specific signals with characteristics required by the field device.

When connected to the Safety Manager IO module, all FTAs use the standard system interconnect cable FS-SIC-0001. field cables are connected to the terminals.

Communication FTAs

FTAs used for communication purposes are connected to a channel of the Universal Safety Interface (USI).

Honeywell FC-SAI-1620M Safety High Density Analog Input Module Field Interface

All Safety Manager IO modules are galvanically or optically isolated between the external and internal power supplies.

Safety IO modules are available for safety circuits up to SIL3 and SIL3.

Safety modules can also be used in control applications to provide Safety Manager diagnostics and fault reporting with or without automatic fault isolation.

(The automatic fault isolation feature is configurable).

Field Interface

Safety Manager™ uses Field Terminal Assemblies (FTAs) and internal cables to connect IOs and communication channels to field terminals.

Two communication FTAs are available:

– Ethernet FTA, UCOM-HSE, or SDW-550 EC are available:

– Automatic switching of the 10Mb/100Mb Ethernet interface.

– The Universal FTA, DCOM-232-485. provides an Ethernet FTA, UCOM-HSE, or SDW-550 EC.

– RS232

– RS485

Cabling

System Interconnect Cables (SIC) connect field signals to IO modules.

Depending on the type of SIC cable, an FTA is required to establish the connection.

Honeywell FC-SAI-1620M Safety High Density Analog Input Module Built on QMR technology

Built on QMR technology:

Safety Manager™ is based on reliable Quadruple Modular Redundancy (QMR™) diagnostic technology and 2oo4D architecture.

QMR increases system flexibility, enhances diagnostic messaging, and increases system fault tolerance for critical applications.

This technology enables Safety Manager to handle multiple system failures to meet the needs of critical control applications.

In addition, Safety Manager is the cornerstone for integrating SIL (Safety Integrity Level) rated sensors and valve actuators in the field.

This ensures effective deployment of safety instrumented functionality for complex and hazardous processes.

Whether it’s integrating SIL1-2 safety transmitters (ST3000 and STT250) or safety valve positioners

to enhance safety and field asset management, Safety Manager is the perfect enabler for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).

Honeywell 05701-A-0511 5701 Series Control System Architecture

Architecture

The system consists of a single 1” (2.54 cm) wide board mounted in a ruggedized rack designed for European style cabinets.

Two rack widths are available:

a. 19-inch with 17 card slots for up to 16 channel control cards and one engineering card.

b. Half 19 inches with 9 card slots for up to 8 channel control cards and 1 engineering card.

Each subrack contains one engineering card and one DC input card to form the rack system.

The system is designed to accommodate different customer wiring configurations, and for this reason,

the control functions are separated from the relays and field wiring connections.

Therefore, single channel gas detection consists of :

a. Sensor Driver Module

For compatibility with a wide range of input and sensor types,

the circuitry required to control the sensors is mounted on separate plug-in sensor driver modules.

These modules plug directly into the channel control card and are factory installed.

Two different modules are available, one for catalytic inputs and the other for 4 – 20mA inputs.

b. Single Channel Control Cards

Each single-channel control card is self-contained and contains all the necessary electronic circuitry to provide sensor actuation,

alarm detection, and gas level indication for that gas detection channel.

c. Field Interface or Relay Card

Field interface/relay cards provide interface connections between the control card and the respective field-connected gas sensors.

In addition, relay cards provide alarm outputs for field connections.

Honeywell Experion Local Control Network Migration Planning

How Experion LCN Works

Expanding on the Enhanced TPS Node capabilities, the Experion LCN (ELCN) further enables continuous innovation for Honeywell customers.

Using our proven Experion Fault Tolerant Ethernet (FTE) infrastructure, a new ELCN bridge connects Experion to Classic Coax LCN

Once this connection is established, the LCN coax connection can be removed one LCN node at a time.

Instead of a hardware connection for every Experion TPS node, only one redundant ELCN bridge pair is needed to enable virtualization.

Migration Planning

Success with modernization depends on developing a multi-year migration plan that can include support at every stage of the automation lifecycle.

Service programs can include Assurance 360. Solution Enhancement Support Program (SESP), Kits & Enhancements,

Hardware Refresh, and Lifecycle Management. For instance, Assurance 360 transforms how you manage and maintain systems.

Honeywell the Experion PKS systems. Honeywell provides agreed service levels rather than prescribed quantities of materials and labor.

Users prescribed quantities of materials and labor. Users take a strategic view to minimize the total cost of ownership,

guarantees performance, and utilizes the automation system to improve business results.

Honeywell offers flexible solutions you can live with and grow with when you develop a modernization plan tailored to your unique site requirements.

Without the need to “rip and replace” existing control systems, Honeywell modernization protects your intellectual property,

retains physical assets, and leverages the value of your technology investments.
