ABB Stressometer® Systems Digital Transmission Unit PFSA107

ABB’s Digital Transmission Unit provides non-contact,

maintenance-free sensor excitation and signal transmission

from the Stressometer® flatness measurement roll.

Measurement made easy

Digital Transmission Unit

The DTU is built to be completely insensitive to

tough mill environments. The main features are:

• Signal transmission over a non-contact capacitive

link. The link is not affected by the surrounding air

quality which could be the case with optical links.

• Sensor excitation using a non-contact rotating

transformer.

• Maintenance-free hybrid bearings are used to

ensure a long lifetime.

• All measurement signals are transmitted through

a fiber optic cable to the control cabinet.

Direct and parallel measurement

It is important that all measurement points are

processed in parallel, i.e. at the same time.

This means that strip tension variations will

influence all measurement points in the same

way and thus will not influence the actual flatness

measurement.

KEBA KeTop T70 State-of-the-art optics and best ergonomics

State-of-the-art optics and best ergonomics

The plain, joint-free installation of the KeTop T70 display

allows best user experience – even with frequent changes

between touch display and keyboard operation. Operating

elements placed on the edge of the housing can also be ac

tivated easily and precisely. Thanks to the flush display instal

lation, unintended touch triggers due to dirt particle accumu

lations are excluded, as are the burning in of sweat spatters.

The high-resolution display is installed in portrait format,

which enables an especially compact housing design and

makes a device that lies perfectly in the hand. If necessary,

the touch screen can also be operated with a stylus, which

is kept ergonomically and securely in an opening on the rear

side of KeTop T70.

Data can be backed up on a USB stick. Smaller sticks

will also fit under the closed USB cover and are thus fully

IP 65-protected.

KEBA KeTop T70 Features optimally combined

Features optimally combined

The user-friendly user interfaces of a modern visualisation

device must be executed quickly and smoothly. The

KeTop T70 has the most powerful x86 processor in its class.

It is a very compact, mobile operating device with full Win

dows 10 IoT Enterprise and is suitable for almost all applica

tions. Thanks to the drivers for communication with Siemens

and Beckhoff controllers as well as general protocols such as

Modbus TCP and OPC UA, the device can be easily integra

ted into almost any controller.

The compactness is additionally supported by the portrait

format. During teach-in, it is often necessary to read code

lines on site at the operating device. These can be optimally

displayed in portrait format and are thus easy to read. A

simple hook fastening, a magnetic holder and a stylus

holder increase the ergonomics and also keep the device

very compact.

KEBA KeTop T70 Effective mobile operation, brilliant visualization

The mobile terminal KeTop T70 with its high-resolution

display and fast processors is perfectly suited forde

manding visualization and operating applications. Its

robust housing is ergonomically shaped and light, enab

ling long and exhaustion-free operation. Unique features

such as a performance that grows with the application,

as well as an additional, optional rear side keyboard

make KeTop T70 a long-term and versatile hand-held

control unit.

Greatest operating efficiency thanks to

rear side keyboard

The greatest ergonomics plays a decisive role when it comes

to hand-held control units. During an analysis of users‘

operating behavior, it was determined that experienced

teachers frequently press several buttons at the same time

in order to work more efficiently. Therefore, an optional

keyboard was developed for the rear side of KeTop T70.

which allows the simultaneous programming of several robot

axes, for example. However numerous other applications

where just a few keys are pressed frequently (e.g. Menu,

Home, Back, etc.) can profit from this unique feature.

KEBA KeTop T10 directMove Operate robots easily and quickly with intuitive gestures

Maximum operational safety

Emergency stop and 3-position enabling switch guarantee

the same high safety standard as with traditional hand-held

units. In addition, special safety functions which can be exe

cuted on any control prevent the robot following rapid, acci

dental movements of the KeTop T10 directMove. Excessively

fast moved robot joints are locked.

Features and benefits

//  Ideal for the teach-in of 6-axis robots

//   Intuitive operation with no robot programming knowledge required

//   Particular safe extricating the robot from tricky situations,

even for less experienced operators

//  Around 20% time saving with the teach-in

//  Optional customizing of keyboard and display icons

KEBA KeTop T10 Flexibility with 4 operating modes

Flexibility with 4 operating modes

The user has four operating modes available. It is possible to

switch between these modes very simply as required. A 1.5″

color display indicates the active mode using icons.

directMove mode: The robot follows the direction instruc

tions from the KeTop T10 directMove completely freely in the

space.

snap2grid mode: Use of defined coordinate systems as re

ference directions for the KeTop T10 directMove for precisely

directed movements of the robot.

virtual handle mode: The KeTop T10 directMove acts as

a virtual handle on the Tool Center Point (TCP) to change its

alignment quickly and easily.

axial movement mode: or the direct movement of individual

robot axes as with a conventional handheld unit.

KEBA KeTop T10 directMove – Show the robot the way

directMove – Show the robot the way

Using the inertial sensors of the 6D Inertial Measurement Unit

(6D IMU), the KeTop T10 directMove detects its position and

direction in the three-dimensional space. The operator can

therefore easily specify the required movement or rotation by

indicating in the direction of motion and then operating a small

joystick – regardless of his/her position relative to the robot.

This means that no in-depth knowledge of coordinate systems

is required. The motion speed can be changed via the intensi

ty of the joystick movements. This means that individual path

points can be set and finely adjusted using the KeTop T10 di

rectMove. If required, standard operating units and screen de

vices such as notebooks can also be used for programming.

New opportunities

Even companies without the relevant experts on hand, who may

previously have dispensed with robots in production process,

can now feel confident in acquiring such systems. Thanks to the

KeTop T10 directMove the teach-in of the kinematics is possib

le with minimal time required for training and familiarisation. For

example, in service robotics where heavy loads are moved and

complex coordinate systems are built upon each other, a teach

in is tricky to implement. But the KeTop T10 directMove offers a

very noticeable increase in ease of operation.

KEBA KeTop T10 Features and benefits

The innovative KeTop T10 directMove handheld unit heralds

the beginning of a new era in mobile robot operation. This

revolutionary type of intuitive teach-in supersedes complex

abstraction and complicated thought processes in coor

dinate systems. It is simpler and more efficient – both for

experienced operators as well as for new users. The time

required and the associated costs are minimized conside

rably, and operational errors are reduced effectively.

KEBA KeWheel The adaptive Rotary-Push Button

Wide range of haptic feedback

through MRFtechnology

The use of magnetorheological fluid (MRF) allows the imple

mentation of improved use cases on the HMI. The response

speed of the MRF technology makes various feedback pat

terns, such as ripples, blocking or torque levels possible. As

a result, different mechanical properties can be combined in

just one operating element.

The opportunities of this new patented technology comprise

KeWheel modes such as overrides for rapid traverse, for

ward feed, spindle, different handwheels, user interface input

options, hold to run buttons, and many more. The KeWheel

and all its functions can be easily integrated via a real-time

fieldbus, such as PROFINET.

Anyway, to cut a long story short –

you need to feel this!
