Beckhoff EK1100 | EtherCAT Coupler

The EK1100 EtherCAT Coupler is the link between the EtherCAT protocol at fieldbus level and the EtherCAT Terminals. The coupler

converts the passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to E-bus signal representation. A station consists of a coupler and any

number of EtherCAT Terminals that are automatically detected and individually displayed in the process image.

Special features:

Connection technology: 2 x RJ45 socket

Connection lengths: up to 100 m

Number of EtherCAT Terminals in the overall system: up to 65.535

The EK1100 has two RJ45 sockets. The upper Ethernet interface is used to connect the coupler to the network; the lower socket

serves for the optional connection of further EtherCAT devices in the same segment. In addition, an EtherCAT junction or an

EtherCAT extension can be used for the extension or for setting up a line or star topology.

The system and field supply, each 24 V DC, is provided directly at the coupler. The attached EtherCAT Terminals are supplied with

the current required for communication from the supplied system voltage. The coupler can supply a maximum of 5 V and 2 A. If

higher current is required, power feed terminals such as the EL9410 have to be integrated. The field supply is forwarded to the

individual I/O components via the power contacts with up to 10 A.

In the EtherCAT network, the EK1100 can be installed anywhere in the Ethernet signal transfer section (100BASE-TX) – except

directly at the switch. The EK9000 and EK1000 couplers are suitable for use at the switch.

KEBA modular drive controllers Fast and safe system integration

Fast and safe system integration

Our modular drive controllers can be perfectly integrated into the KEBA or a

third-party automation system.

Flexible communication

“One Drive fits all” – Standardized interfaces such as EtherCAT, PROFINET or

CANopen allow uniform drive technology and constant motion quality even

when using different controllers.

Advanced commissioning tools

Tools that have been tried and tested over many years ensure perfect commissioning

with their many assistant functions. These include guided commissioning, a real-time

oscilloscope or frequency response analysis for precise detection and compensation

of mechanical deficiencies.

Open motor interface

In addition to the extensive KEBA motor program, our drive controllers with their

multi-encoder interface and various control models are open for special or third-party

motors. The automatic user-guided motor identification optimizes all control parameters.

Scaleable Safe Motion Packages

All drive controllers are already equipped with the STO function as standard.

Additional safety functions and packages ensure compliance with applicable regulations,

depending on the application. Safe motion monitoring can be activated and parameterized

via I/O or FSoE fieldbus communication.

KEBA Servo controllers Digital control technology

Digital control technology

Control technology makes the difference at KEBA.

A sophisticated control structure and predictive pre-controls allow the

greatest possible dynamics with the highest level of accuracy.

Mechanical inadequacies are corrected online using adaptive processes,

and mechanical oscillations or vibrations are suppressed or filtered out.

Inadequacies in the mechanical transmission path can include encoder

errors, friction and cogging torques, resonance frequencies or asymmetries

in gantry applications.

A variety of analysis and compensation functions are available in our drive

controllers for this purpose.

Autotuning for easy commissioning identifies the machine mechanics and

parameterizes the control loops quickly and reliably.

To reduce downtimes, the drive system and the coupled mechanics are

constantly monitored. Defects are diagnosed quickly and wear is diagnosed

in advance. The internal evaluation of all data ensures fast analyses, only the

results are transmitted to the factory automation in real time.

KEBA Servo controllers Flexible, open, intelligent and safe

Drive solutions that move

KEBA servo controllers offer high dynamics and precision for a wide

range of applications in industrial automation. Our focus is on

comprehensive support for system integration and the selection of

suitable drive solutions.

For simple and efficient integration into existing automation solutions

solutions, various bus systems including EtherCAT, Profinet, CAN and a

large number of analog and digital encoders are supported.

Furthermore, KEBA servo drives can be easily integrated into existing

safety solutions; integrated Safe Motion solutions up to SIL 3.

PLe and CAT 4 offer flexible options for this.

Your benefits at a glance:

• Long-term availability and high investment security

• Energy-efficient multi-axis systems (230 – 480 V AC, 1.5 – 300 A)

• Flexible single-axis solutions (24 V DC – 480 V AC, 2 – 450 A)

GE PQMII Power Quality Meter™

The GE Multilin PQMII Power Quality Meter is an ideal choice for continuous monitoring of a

single or three-phase system. It provides metering for current, voltage, real power, reactive

power, apparent power, energy use, cost of power, power factor, and frequency.

Programmable setpoints and four assignable output relays allow control functions to be

added for specific applications. This includes basic alarm on over/under current or voltage,

unbalance, demand-based load shedding, and capacitor power factor correction control.

More complex control is possible using the four switch inputs; these can also be used for

status information such as breaker open/closed and flow information.

As a data gathering device for plant automation systems that integrate process,

instrument, and electrical requirements, all monitored values are available via one of two

RS485 communication ports running the Modbus protocol. If analog values are required

for direct interface to a PLC, any of the monitored values can output as a 4 to 20 mA (or 0

to 1 mA) signal to replace up to four (4) separate transducers. A third RS232

communication port connects to a PC from the front panel for simultaneous access of

information by other plant personnel.
