Applications

The 540CID01 is a module in the RTU540 product family consisting of a communication unit (CMU), a multiple input/output module (IOM) and a galvanically isolated wide-range power supply (IOM).

The 540CID01 is a module in the RTU540 product family consisting of a communication unit (CMU), a multi-input/output module (IOM), and a galvanically isolated wide-range power supply (PSM) in a DIN rail metal housing.

Key tasks include

– Managing and controlling the RTU520 I/O module via the serial I/O bus

– Reading process events from the input modules

– Sending commands to the output www.cniacs.com modules.

– Communication with the control system and the local HMI system via serial and Ethernet interfaces.

– Communicates with sub-RTUs, IEDs, or multimeter devices via serial and Ethernet interfaces.

– Manages the time base of the RTU540 product line station and synchronizes the I/O modules.

– Handles the dialog between the RTU540 product line and a web browser via LAN and USB interfaces.

– Acquisition of 8 analog input signals (mA or V signals) with a fast scan cycle of 100 ms for 2 inputs – Acquisition of 16 digital input signals with a fast scan cycle of 100 ms for 2 inputs

– 8 output contacts (normally open), 1-pole or 2-pole outputs

The device is equipped with a battery-buffered real-time clock (RTC).

The device is available in two versions:

– R0001: Process voltage 24 … 60 V DC

– R0002: Process voltage 110 … 125 V DC 125 V DC

Input/Output Controller (IOC)

The microcontroller on the module handles all key tasks for the parameterized processing functions.

In addition, it communicates interactively with the RTU I/O bus. All configuration data and processing parameters are loaded by the communication unit via the RTU I/O bus.

The binary input unit performs the following processing functions for different types of signals:

– Digital filtering to suppress contact jumps

– Suppression of oscillating signals generated during the process

– Intermediate input state with double indication of validity check and suppression

– Consistency check of all channels assigned to digital measured values or step position information

– Summing of incremental pulses to form a combined total in a 31-bit resolution register.

– Copying of the combined total to a freeze register for data storage

The Binary Output Unit can perform the following processing functions for individual signal types:

– Control command output duration

Command monitor function:

– Output relay check on the module (m out of 8)

– Switching voltage monitoring before and during output (24 V DC coil voltage)

– Command output duration monitoring

The analog input unit performs the following processing functions on the measured values:

– Scan period and line frequency interference suppression

– Zero value monitoring and switching detection

– Smoothing

– Threshold monitoring in absolute or cumulative values

– Periodic transmission and background cycling

FEATURES

The ARM cortex A8 controller AM3352 is used to implement the real-time operating system.

The 540CMD01 is responsible for interface management, event handling, time base and internal database. The controller acts as a master for the serial I/O bus (WRB).

System-related configuration files are stored on a non-volatile flash memory card (Removable SD Card™) to ensure that the system configuration is valid after a power-on reset (PoR).

The battery buffer RTC is used to maintain accurate time in the shutdown state.

The communication device provides the following interfaces:

– Communication interface 1 … 4 (CP1 … Communication interfaces 1 … 4 (CP1 … CP4): RS232C or RS485 serial interface with RJ45 connector.

– Ethernet interfaces 1 and 2 (E1 & E2): 10/100BaseT with RJ45 connector.

– WRB I/O bus interface for local communication with I/O modules.

APPLICATIONS

The multimeter 560CVD03 is used to monitor input signals from three independently phased 3-wire or 4-wire connections.

Voltage, current and power can be measured directly for each phase and a number of other parameters can be derived via software. The measurement results www.cniacs.com are transmitted to the RTU560.

Several versions are available:

Power measurement display

It automatically switches the screens of the measurement page and displays each screen for 6 seconds.

Six seconds.

If changed to key mode, each screen will automatically display 240 seconds. Scroll mode can be set with the RTUtil560.

Features

Multimeters are microprocessor-based Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) used to measure current, voltage, power, and energy.

Derived parameters are calculated once in 500 milliseconds and then scaled according to user-programmed constants for current and voltage transformers.

The current and voltage inputs of the 560CVD03 are connected only through the appropriate transformers (see Figures 3 and 4).

The multimeter can be mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail.

The new DIN rail RTU 560CID11 extends the RTU540 product line and is now available for sale and shipment.

This product complements the RTU540 product line with integrated input/output (I/O) modules as well as two Ethernet ports and four serial interfaces.

It is available in R0001 (24…. .60 V DC) and R0002 (110…125 VDC). . 125 VDC) for different process voltages.

The 560CID11 is a compact unit consisting of a communication unit (CMU), a multi-input/output module and a power supply (24 V DC).

It is mounted in a metal DIN rail housing. Various interfaces offer flexible and reliable communication possibilities.

Technical features

The main tasks of the 560CID11 are

– Acquisition of 8 analogue input signals (mA or V signals, 2 inputs for 100 ms fast scan)

– Acquisition of 16 digital input signals (1 input for a 16 kHz high-speed counter)

– Output 8 binary commands (via relays)

– Output 8 binary commands (via relay)

– Management and control of the I/O modules via 10-pole wired-OR-bus (WRB).

– Reads process events from the input board.

– Reads process events from the input board. Writes commands to the output board.

– Communication with the control system and the local HMI system via 4 integrated serial line interfaces and 2 Ethernet 10/100 BaseT LAN interfaces.

The 10/100 BaseT Ethernet LAN interface communicates with the control system and the local HMI system.

– Manages the time base of the RTU station and synchronises the I/O modules.

– Handles the dialogue between the RTU and the web browser via the Ethernet interface.

The main functions of the integrated I/O unit include

Applications

The multimeter 560CVD11 is used to measure analog AC input signals from three independent phases with additional inputs for neutral current and voltage.

The module measures the voltage and current per www.cniacs.com phase directly and generates a series of calculated values.

In addition, the module can detect fault currents and the direction of overcurrent. The modules support configurations with 3 or 4 voltage transformers.

Features

The multimeter is a microprocessor-based intelligent electronic device (IED) for measuring current, voltage, power and energy.

Fault current detection and overcurrent indication are also provided.

The current and voltage inputs are connected via transformers only (see Wiring). The modules support configurations with 3 or 4 voltage transformers and 3 or 4 current transformers.

The calculated values are scaled according to the constants programmed by the user for the current and voltage transformers. All values are updated after 200 ms.

Fault current can be measured up to 20 times the rated current.

The current input can withstand 50 times the rated current for 1 second.

The multimeter is equipped with two binary outputs, which are not supported in the RTU500 series configuration.

ABB Trip circuit supervision relay TCS

Continuous supervision of complete trip circuit independent of circuit breaker position

The supervision relay type TCS is intended for a continuous supervision of circuit breaker trip circuit and gives an alarm for loss of auxiliary supply, faults on the trip coil or its wires independent of the breaker position, faults on the breaker auxiliary contacts and faults in the supervision relay. The trip circuit supervision is a crucial requirements as its failure can cause disconnect of possible network fault and eventually have to be cleared by another upstream protection.

In normal condition, the indicator LE D glows green and output relays are in picked-up condition. In the event of a fault, the supervision relay operates (drops-off)www.cniacs.com after a delay of 0.6 sec and the indicator LED turns red.
