Real-time communication—innovated and solved

KeControl relies fully on the EtherCAT master developed by KEBA that is realized at the FPGA

hardware level and supports a cycle time of 62.5 µs. Data transfer jitter is reduced to less than

100 ns, and the usable EtherCAT data bandwidth is increased to more than 95%. In addition, the

CPU base load is reduced by up to 20%.

The unique Fast Reaction Control feature can reduce the dead times in control loops by up to 66%.

Concrete applications show a dramatic improvement of the control performance, with settling time

reduced by 46% and overshooting reduced by a factor of 6.

Custom technology cards and interface boards

The interface board features versatile standard interfaces that can be customized to suit customer

requirements. In addition, customers have the option of ordering customized technology cards from

KEBA or developing and integrating their own cards in-house using the form factor of the expansion

cards.

KeStudio SafeEditNG software, specially developed for the

KeSafe C5 range, is a user-friendly drag-and-drop  engineering

tool for implementing and diagnosis of safety applications.

Characterized by a high level of automation in the configura

tion of safety applications, it features, among others:

• Flexible assignment of physical hardware to virtual

application I/Os

• Export, adaption and import of safety applications on

AML-based data files

•  Adaption of safety application configurations via

customer engineering tools (SAP, E-Plan, etc.)

The KeSafe C5. a modular safety solution consisting of

hardware and software, was developed for the optimal

realization of safety applications in serial machines and plant

engineering. The pioneer of the KeSafe C5 safety system is

the SCP 501 CPU module with a high number of onboard

I/Os, open architecture, and compact size, perfectly

designed to execute complex safety applications, process

safe sensor signals, and control safe actuators. For in

creased  flexibility, the system can be expanded using the

SDM 570 extension module.

Sophisticated solution for hybrid output control

KEBA hardware-based approach for controlling safe outputs

via the functional controller results in excellent repeat accura

cy and cost saving potential. The hybrid output control  offers

the possibility to control the outputs both from the safety

application and the functional control (AND logic).
