Eaton COOPER POWER SERIES DirectConnect elbow arrester

Look to Eaton’s Cooper PowerE series 600 A 35 kV class DirectConnect

elbow arrester to offer wind farm customers significant cost savings and

ease of installation.

This new deadbreak design replaces three components:

bushing extender, loadbreak reducing tap plug and the traditional 200 A

elbow arrester. The DirectConnect elbow arrester is available in two design

options: VariGAP and M.O.V.E. Eaton values your trust in our experience to

engineer products that save you money.

Reliability, cost savings and ease of installation

Eaton is now combining their 40+ year track record in separable connectors

and 27 years in underground arresters to introduce the 600 A DirectConnect

elbow arrester.

Eaton offers a cost-effective design with a shorter stacking height.

With this design, you no longer have to worry about clutter or not being able to

fit your cable accessories into smaller enclosures. The DirectConnect elbow arrester

replaces three components with one and is over 50% smaller in size than the

traditional offering, cutting installation time by 80%.

Not only does this design save you money on direct material costs, but it also

reduces overall labor expenses.

The DirectConnect elbow arrester utilizes the design expertise and manufacturing

know-how that contractors, developers and owners alike have come to rely on from

Eaton. Specific for 35 kV wind farm applications, the VariGAP design option provides

enhanced temporary overvoltage (TOV) characteristics for superior MCOV performance

over time. The VariGAP design is available in 27 kV and the standard M.O.V.E. design

is available in 27 kV and 30 kV ratings. Installation is easy. Simply thread the adapter

into a standard 600 A bushing and install the DirectConnect elbow arrester onto the

bushing. The probe inside the arrester latches into the adapter.

Bently Nevada IEPE Accelerometer Series

Description

This series of Integrated Electronics Piezo-Electric (IEPE)

accelerometers are optimized for obtaining high quality

vibration signals in harsh industrial environments. Their piezo

sensing elements provide exceptional dynamic range,

frequency range and linearity, while their integrated

amplifiers boost the signal, making them relatively immune

to electrical noise.

They require an industry standard constant-current power

supply, and provide an output voltage proportional to the

acceleration signal. So they can interface to a wide variety of

condition monitoring systems.

Within the series are options for 100 or 500 mV/g sensitivity,

top-exit or side-exit connector, and several hazardous-area

certification levels.

Bently Nevada Velocity Sensors & Accelerometers

Overview

The evolution of our accelerometer sensors, velocity-sensing tools, pressure sensors,

and vibration sensors can be traced back to our velocity sensors.

These high-sensitivity units offer a self-generating moving-coil design used by geologists

to measure movement in the Earth’s crust. Today, we still refer to “seismic” sensors for

condition monitoring or general purpose in a nod to their origin.

These early sensors led to the introduction of different types of accelerometers,

including rugged solid-state piezoelectric accelerometers, ushering in today’s integrated

capacitive configurations that deploy signal processing circuitry for output signals using

velocity rather than acceleration.

Our capacitive calibration experience and expertise in how accelerometers work across

the dynamic range, developed over decades, offer a selection of first-rate, high-sensitivity

casing-mounted capacitive accelerometers and velocity sensors with a variety of models

for specific applications.

Bently Nevada’s line of accelerometers, velometers, and other acceleration and velocity

sensing tools each come with features to help keep your machinery in its best condition.

Both can handle extreme heat. The velocity sensor is made to be self-powered,

radiation-resistant, and flexible to suit your plant, while the acceleration sensor protects

from electrical hazards and offers portable data collectors.

• Withstands Extreme Heat

• Flexible and Reliable

• Radiation Resistant

• Sense Low-Frequencies

• Isolates Electricity

• Withstands Extreme Heat

• Monitors Gearmesh Frequencies

• Fully Compatible with Portable Data Collectors

Bently Nevada Machinery shutdown functionality of the 3701/55 ADAPT ESD system

Inputs

Inputs to the system are processed using three CPU modules to provide

triple modular redundancy (TMR). Each CPU processing module processes

two unique speed input channels, for a total of six speed channels for

the system. The processing modules also monitor an array of 32 discrete (DI)

and process variable (PV) signal inputs. Twelve channels of this input signal

array may be configured either as discrete inputs or 4-20 mA analog inputs.

Remaining channels in the array are reserved for discrete input signals only.

Outputs

Machinery shutdown functionality of the 3701/55 ADAPT ESD system is

actuated by TMR relay output modules. Each relay output module has five

relays with a level of configurability that accommodates a variety of applications

and requirements. Four of the five relays in each module are used to annunciate

system logic. The remaining relay reflects the OK/NOTOK status of the associated

protection path. The Bently Nevada Monitor Configuration software provides a

graphical interface to configure relay logic. The state of each relay is determined

by the system inputs and configured system logic in conjunction with thecontrol

state of the relay. Relay control states depend on the application, and may be

set as normally energized/de-energized and independent one-out-of-one, (1oo1),

voting or TMR two-out-of-three, (2oo3), voting. Each CPU module in the system

has two, internally powered, 4-20 mA recorder outputs controlled by the full-scale

speed set by the user through the Monitor Configuration software.
