air-cooled VFD. Rated for NEMA Type 3R, this enclosure is ideally

TMEIC TMdrive®-10e2 Improved Efficiency and Power Performance

Improved Efficiency and Power Performance

The Dual Purpose drive utilizes standard TMdrive-10e2 hardware and

offers significantly improved performance over traditional thyristor

systems. Its IGBT gating reduces armature RMS current ripple by over

3:1. resulting in lower motor heating and better commutation.

While DC motor applications require additional auxiliary filtering panels,

upgrading to AC restores the drive’s full power capacity—enabling

significant output increases. With a regenerative converter operating at

unity power factor (1.0 PF), the TMdrive-10e2 DP reduces infrastructure

demands and energy costs, making it an ideal choice for facilities seeking

long-term performance and reliability.

The TMdrive-10e2 Dual Purpose Drive enables a smooth transition

from DC to AC motor systems, offering unmatched flexibility,

simplified upgrades, and improved efficiency for modernization

projects.

Seamless Transition from DC to AC Motor Systems

The TMdrive-10e2 Dual Purpose (DP) Drive is engineered to support

modernization efforts by allowing users to control either DC or AC

motors using a single hardware platform. By simply switching the

firmware between DC and AC configurations, operators can phase

upgrades to meet operational schedules and budget constraints.

Initially configured for DC motor control, the same TMdrive-10e2 DP

unit can later power and control a new AC motor without replacing

the drive. This flexibility minimizes downtime, maximizes investment,

and supports long-term system scalability.

Ware® installation, monitoring and managing up to 255 inverters

across multiple power channels. Each channel integrates a power

optimization inverter and DC box, enabling the controller to maintain

site-wide power quality by issuing real-time commands.

Designed for high performance, the system offers faster control

response, an enhanced user interface, and sortable inverter

Advanced Data Historian and Communication Features

Equipped with a 100 GB robust Data Historian, the Power Plant Controller

—capturing everything from inverter power to skid DC current.
