Bachmann Grid Measurement and Protection Systems

Safety and efficiency of the electrical energy supply

The portfolio begins with the GM260. which is suitable for energy

monitoring according to ISO 50001. operational machine control,

and power consumption related fault detection. A remanent 4Q

energy meter per circuit calculates active and reactive power

independently from the PLC.

For use in power generation systems and virtual power plants,

the GMP232/x2 family adds extremely fast and accurate continuous

RMS measurements, fundamental extraction, and symmetrical

components while meeting the overvoltage category CAT IV according

to IEC 60664. Outstanding frequency accuracy of 1 mHz, with 12

updates per cycle ensures easy tracking even within weak microgrids

or island grid formation. Configurable digital protection functions ensure

grid code compliance and system self-protection.

The built-in fault recorder logs 10 kHz waveform data in COMTRADE

format according to IEEE C37.111 and IEC 60255-24. while also providing

continuous access to the samples by the PLC application programs.

Grid events are logged with globally-synchronized time stamps to analyze

any deviations with relation to other reference points. Harmonic analysis

directly on the module provides spectral data up to the 50th harmonic

along with related distortion factors, which allows an objective evaluation

of power quality.e GSP274 family adds automatic synchronization to the

busbar or grid combined with VDE-AR-N 4105 compliant network and

system protection (NS-Protection) that can withstand single faults.

Bachmann GSP274 Grid Measurement, Synchronization and Protection Module

The GSP274 module enables the safe, reliable and automatic synchronization

of generator units to the power supply grid. It also provides a number of

monitoring functions for generator and grid protection. The circuit-breakers

are tripped by the module directly via digital outputs and relays.

Additional digital inputs enable the monitoring of the relevant switching state.

The continuous monitoring of grid harmonics up to the 50th harmonic can

be used for direct reactions as well as for evaluating the power quality.

The module is provided with an integrated real-time data recorder for the

high-precision recording of up to 16 measuring channels during protective

tripping or synchronization. Error events are recorded continuously and

stored permanently with a high resolution time stamp. The internal time

base of the module can be synchronized to an external time source

(e.g. IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol), which supports the analysis

of the data from spatially separated measurement and protection devices.

The module is fully integrated in the Bachmann SolutionCenter.

Configurations can be created simply and stored for later reuse.

Both the measured channel values and also the derived values are made

available directly in the user interface. Commissioning and fault analysis

are simplified with tabular, vector and time sequence displays.

Event logs and recorded time sequences can be exported in CSV respectively

COMTRADE format. The integrated simulation function simplifies the

configuration of protection and monitoring functions.

Bachmann GMP232/x2 Module Features

The GMP232/x2 module is fully integrated in the Bachmann

SolutionCenter. Configurations can be created simply and

stored for later reuse. Both the measured channel values

and also the derived values are made available directly

in the user interface. Commissioning and fault analysis

are simplified with tabular, vector and time sequence dis

plays. Event logs and recorded time sequences can be

exported in CSV resp. COMTRADE format. The integrated

simulation function simplifies the configuration of protec

tion and monitoring functions.

Bachmann GMP232/x2 Grid Measurement and Protection Module

The GMP232/x2 enables the safe, reliable and fast meas

urement of all relevant values for three-phase electrical

networks. It also provides a number of monitoring func

tions for generator and grid protection. Up to 2 circuit

breakers/trip circuits are triggered by the module directly

via relay outputs. The continuous monitoring of grid har

monics up to the 50th harmonic can be used for direct

reactions as well as for evaluating the power quality.

The module is provided with an integrated real-time

data recorder for the high-precision recording of up to

24 measuring channels during alarm/protection events.

Error events are recorded continuously and stored with a

high resolution time stamp. The internal time base of the

module can be synchronized to an external time source

(e.g. IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol), which supports the

analysis of the data from geographically separated meas

urement and protection devices.

Bachmann GM260 Grid Measurement Module

The GM260 module enables the safe, reliable and fast measurement of

all relevant values for three-phase electrical networks. 2 separate

three-phase branches can be acquired at a common voltage monitoring

point. The grid variables are calculated online in the module as True RMS

values including harmonics up to the 40th harmonic.

This is particularly useful for applications such as for operational measurement

on machines or the energy monitoring in plants and buildings.

As well as functions for determining the active, apparent and reactive power

for each phase, 2 separate 4-quadrant energy counters are directly integrated

in the module.

The GM260 module is fully integrated in the Bachmann SolutionCenter.

Both the measured channel values and also the derived values are made

available directly in the user interface.

Bachmann M200 Control System – Industrial Controller with a Future Scalable. Robust. Versatile.

Individual requirements can be met easily with a wide range of powerful

CPUs based on industrial (Pentium) processors and with an extensive range

of I/O modules. Real-time capable bus systems enable the automation to

be decentralized without any loss of performance.

The M200 series perfectly combines the flexibility of a PC-based controller

Bachmann PSI135 Power Supply Module for backplane isolated

Power supply modules type PSI135 feed the backplane

and the internal supply sections of plugged modules. The

integrated galvanic isolation decouples disturbances and

separates supply groups strictly. Up to 4 PSI135 modules

can be operated simultaneously on one backplane, providing

supply redundancy in the event of a primary supply

or infrastructure failure. The remaining load is distributed

evenly on the unaffected modules. The devices measure all

relevant quantities of supply and load circuit automatically,

aggregate them to meaningful diagnostic information on

the application interface as well as visual indication.

Bachmann BPC101 Backplane Slot Cover

Empty slots on backplanes are useful for optional retrofits,

machine variants or for keeping reserve space in plant con

struction. The BPC101 backplane slot cover protects each

slot from mechanical influences, electrostatic discharge

and contamination. BPC101 can be fitted both between

mounted modules as well as mounted side by side. In both

cases the achieved degree of protection is IP40.

Bachmann BPS1nn Busschienen für Direktverschraubung

Die Busschiene vereint den Buskoppler und die I/O-Module

zu einer mechanisch robusten, EMV-sicheren Einheit. Voll

ständige I/O-Stationen können somit nach der Montage

vorgetestet und ohne weitere Veränderung in die Anwen

dung übernommen werden. Der Aufbau ermöglicht Tausch

und Nachrüstung einzelner Module ohne Demontage der

nicht betroffenen Module.

Die Busschiene ermöglicht die Echtzeitdatenkommunika

tion zwischen den Modulen und dem Buskoppler, versorgt

die Logikseite der Module mit Energie und ermöglicht die

Modul-zu-Modulkommunikation.

Die Befestigung mit massiven M5-Schrauben macht diese

Variante prädestiniert für Umgebungen mit hohen Schock

und Vibrationsbelastungen. Der solide Metallkörper und

die große rückseitige Montagefläche bieten eine hohe Wär

meableitung an die Tragkonstruktion, was die thermischen

Reserven bei Anwendungen mit hohen Umgebungstempe

raturen erhöht.
