Beckhoff CU8110-0060 uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

The three diagnostic LEDs show the status of the input voltage, the output voltage, and the state of

charge and indicate possible error states.

A special feature of the Beckhoff CU81xx devices is OCT (One Cable Technology) as communication

technology between UPS and Industrial PC. This means that the two connecting lines (+24 V, 0 V)

between the Industrial PC and the UPS are used not only to

supply the Industrial PC, but also for bidirectional, modulated data transmission. If both sides are OCT-capable, no further

connection, e.g., via USB, is required. This simplifies cabling and also allows longer connection distances compared to USB.

All UPS devices of the CU81xx series have permanent wiring via two 9-pin plugs, so that the wiring does

not have to be disconnected during service.

UPS and important information on installation and safe operation of the devices.

Beckhoff CU8110-0060 | UPS module, capacitive

CU8110-0060 is a capacitive, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) providing up to 0.3 Wh with a maximum

output power of 55 W.

If the external 24 V DC input voltage is lost, the UPS takes over the supply of the devices connected to it

thanks to its regulated and buffered 24 V DC output voltage.

The CU81xx UPS series is suitable for all Beckhoff components, particularly Industrial PCs, Embedded PCs,

Panels, and Panel PCs.

The main features of this UPS are:

• maintenance-free thanks to capacitive energy storage devices based on double-layer film capacitors

(EDLCs)

• UPS can be mounted on a DIN rail or at the rear panel of the control cabinet

• connection option for a main device (e.g. Industrial PC) and a secondary device (e.g. Control Panel)

• short-circuit protected outputs

• automatic switch-off based on time or residual energy control to protect the energy module

• automatic restart when power is restored (autonomous start)

• protocol-based communication with Industrial PC, optionally via OCT (One Cable Technology) or USB

• digital signals for communication with non-protocol-capable end devices

• parameterization and diagnostics via Beckhoff UPS configuration software on various operating systems

• TwinCAT PLC function blocks for querying the UPS operation

Beckhoff CX2072 | Embedded PC with Intel® Xeon® D-1567

The CX2072 has an Intel® Xeon® CPU with a clock rate of 2.1 GHz (12 cores).

A fan with ball bearings and speed monitoring is integrated into the basic CPU

module. In addition to the CPU, the basic module also contains the main

memory with a size of 8 GB RAM, optionally available with up to 64 GB.

The controller boots from a CFast flash memory card where both the

operating system as well as user programs and data are stored.

The CPU has an internal 128 kB NOVRAM, which acts as a persistent data

memory if no UPS is used.

The use of TwinCAT 3 allows automation tasks to be distributed across the

various cores of the Intel® Xeon® CPU.

All system modules from the CX2000 series for left- or right-sided functional

extensions can be connected. Internally the modules are connected via PCI

Express® and can be plugged to the CPU in the field.

The power supply for the CPU module comes from a CX2100-0014 power

supply module. Up to two mass storage modules (either CX2550-0010 CFast

modules or CX2550-0020 2½-inch SSD modules) can be plugged in between

the power supply unit and the CPU, allowing the use of up to three mass

storage devices in total.

Beckhoff CX2062 | Embedded PC with Intel® Xeon® D-1548

The CX2062 has an Intel® Xeon® CPU with a clock rate of 2.0 GHz

(eight cores). A fan with ball bearings and speed monitoring is integrated

into the basic CPU module. In addition to the CPU, the basic module

also contains the main memory with a size of 8 GB RAM, optionally

available with up to 64 GB. The controller boots from a CFast flash

memory card where both the operating system as well as user programs

and data are stored.

The CPU has an internal 128 kB NOVRAM, which acts as a persistent

data memory if no UPS is used.

The use of TwinCAT 3 allows automation tasks to be distributed across

the various cores of the Intel® Xeon® CPU.

All system modules from the CX2000 series for left- or right-sided

The CX2042 has an Intel® Xeon® CPU with a clock rate of 2.2 GHz

(four cores). A fan with ball bearings and speed monitoring is integrated

into the basic CPU module. In addition to the CPU, the basic module

also contains the main memory with a size of 8 GB RAM, optionally

available with up to 64 GB. The controller boots from a CFast flash

memory card where both the operating system as well as user programs

and data are stored.

Beckhoff CX2043 | Embedded PC with AMD Ryzen™ V1807B

The internal RAM size is 8 GB; up to 32 GB are also optionally possible. The controller boots from the CFast card and has an internal

128 kB NOVRAM for use as a persistent data memory.

The CX2043 is cooled by a high-quality speed-monitored and speed-controlled fan. The fan cartridge features wireless contacting

and is easy to replace.

Other components from the CX2000 family can be connected via the multi-pin terminals on either side. Up to four modules of the

type CX2500-xxxx can be connected on the left side of the basic CPU module. The connection order is irrelevant. Internally, the

modules are connected via PCI Express® and can be plugged to the CPU in the field.

Modules of the type CX2550 (e.g., hard disks/SSD modules) and a power supply unit of the type CX2100-xxxx can be connected on

the right. The power supply unit supplies power to the entire system of CPU module and all plugged optional components. All

Beckhoff EL and KL terminals can be connected directly to the power supply unit. A compact unit comprising controller and I/O

level is thus created on the DIN rail.

The extended operating temperature range from -25°C to +60°C enables the CX2043 to be used under climatically challenging

conditions.

Beckhoff The CX2043 is a modularly expandable Embedded PC for DIN rail mounting

The CX2043 is a modularly expandable Embedded PC for DIN rail mounting and has an AMD Ryzen™ V1807B CPU with a clock

speed of 3.35 GHz and four cores. The power supply unit required for operation enables the direct use and connection of all

Beckhoff I/O components to this CPU module.

The TwinCAT automation software turns the CX2043 system into a high-performance PLC and motion control system that can be

used with or without visualization. Both TwinCAT 2 in 32-bit mode and the latest TwinCAT 3 version in 64-bit mode are supported.

Continuing support for TwinCAT 2 by the CX2033 and CX2043 guarantees investment protection for projects and systems that were

or will be created with this 32-bit generation.

The devices from the CX20x3 series are characterized by outstanding real-time characteristics under the highest computing loads.

This enables deterministic processing with short cycle times on the individual cores of the CPUs.

The basic equipment of the hardware includes two independent Gbit-Ethernet interfaces, four USB 3.2 Gen. 2 ports, one DVI-D

interface and a multi-option interface that can be equipped ex factory with a flexible choice of further interfaces (e.g., serial port,

fieldbus, or second video connection).

Beckhoff CX2033 | Embedded PC with AMD Ryzen™ V1202B

The CX2033 is a modularly expandable Embedded PC for DIN rail mounting and has an AMD Ryzen™ V1202B CPU with a clock

speed of 2.3 GHz and two cores. The power supply unit required for operation enables the direct use and connection of all Beckhoff

I/O components to this CPU module.

The TwinCAT automation software turns the CX2033 system into a high-performance PLC and motion control system that can be

used with or without visualization. Both TwinCAT 2 in 32-bit mode and the latest TwinCAT 3 version in 64-bit mode are supported.

Continuing support for TwinCAT 2 by the CX2033 and CX2043 guarantees investment protection for projects and systems that were

or will be created with this 32-bit generation.

The devices from the CX20x3 series are characterized by outstanding real-time characteristics under the highest computing loads.

The CX2033 is fanless and has no rotating components. Cooling takes place by passive thermal convection.

Beckhoff CX20x3 | Embedded PC series

PLC, Motion Control, interpolation, and visualization

As an Industrial PC on the DIN rail, the CX20x3 has the functionality of large Industrial PCs in interaction with TwinCAT. Multi-core CPUs in conjunction with TwinCAT 3 enable PLC projects to be distributed to several cores, resulting in significant performance gains. Likewise, all TwinCAT Motion Control functions can be used to the full: In theory, up to 256 axes can be controlled and more complex multi-axis functions such as electronic gearing, cam plate, and flying saw are possible in addition to simple point-to-point movements. Due to the powerful CPUs, the CX20x3 can also execute interpolating 3D path movements and complex axis kinematics.

With the CX20x3 series, particular importance was also attached to the continuation of support for (32-bit) TwinCAT 2; however, an upgrade to the more modern (64-bit) TwinCAT 3 is possible at any time with this device series.

With both TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3. the management in the TwinCAT real-time core ensures that sufficient time remains for the user interface (HMI) in addition to the control tasks executed in real-time. The high performance of the graphics kernel integrated in the CPU enables demanding visualizations with advanced user interfaces to be realized.

The CX20x3 series is also available as an Embedded PC without operating system and without TwinCAT.
